I guess Tyler Cloyd has fallen into the abyss. How bad is giving up both Worley and May for Revere looking now? May has been opening a lot of eyes with the Twins.

They could of held onto both and signed Bourne for $10 million a year.

Just looked up Cloyd's stats so far in AAA...he's been lit the farg up. Has a K/9 over 9, but an ERA north of 7 lol

He doesn't have major league stuff. They should have traded him when he was still considered a decent prospect. Not always but some teams do get caught up in stats.

I didn't think Gillick was a great GM either. Actually had this conversation last night at the bar and completely changed my buddies mind after I ran down his list of farg ups.

Gillick was great for the Jays and Mariners. He was average at best with the Phillies

Freddie Garcia for Gio Gonzales and Gavin Floyd is one of the 5 worst trades in club history
signing Adam Eaton
The Lidge trade is fine and I would do it in a heartbeat because of the end result but Bourne was a much better value


Really he signed Werth which was a good move. Other than that what genius moves did he make?

If Wade stays the GM they still win the WS. He planted the seeds and Gillick got to watch them grow.

Completely disagree and that's not just because I dislike Wade.

Gillick knew how to assemble the glue guys...and Wade doesn't sign Werth...do they win without Werth?

All extremely average moves and the Lidge trade worked out for one year but Bourn was the better value. The Freddie Garcia trade and Adam Eaton signing were a disgrace.

All GMs have stinker moves. Eaton was terrible as was dealing for Freddy. He was blinded by Garcia's success as a Mariner. Plus Floyd wasn't showing much and Gio was an unknown at the time (as all minor leaguers are). Floyd has been a .500 pitcher for his CWS career.

They don't win 2008 without Lidge or Werth.

Stairs has one of the biggest homers in club history...
