i dont want to scare you with non back of the baseball card talk but....extra base hits are how you score runs

When you have two men on and one out (which happened three times today by my count) you don't need extra base hits to score runs...you just need motherfargers to not hit into dp's.

thats 1 situation of many in this game

all they can do as a team is string singles together. its really difficult to score runs, percentage wise, when you move 1 base at a time.
