i think chung is probably it for now at safety and that theres a good chance they go for one in the draft....maybe elam or reid in the second round depending on how shtein falls...or maybe they add another second or third tier guy like chung to compete

The Eagles and free agent DT Ricky Jean-Francois were reportedly "far apart" on dollar figures.
Jean-Francois left a visit with the Eagles and is headed for Indy. His camp no longer considers Philly an option. GM Howie Roseman could very well turn to the draft to fill their vacant 3-4 end spot. There's a ton of them available.

What does the mindhive think of Connor Barwin?

i havent seen much of him but looking at his numbers it seems like his value would be tricky to assess....12 sacks two years ago and 3 last year....which is closer to the real connor barwin?

always gotta be wary of white defenders....but they can be successful in 3-4 schemes so id be ok on that front

he went to the same high school as elmore leonard so you and russell are probably all IN

I tried to read one Elmore Leonard book once and didn't dig it. Which is relevant.

I did read that Barwin played the most snaps of any Houston DL last year, so obviously the coaches of an excellent defensive unit trusted him in any situation. That isn't exactly exciting, but for a team that is basically rebuilding the entire defense he's the kind of solid player I can get behind.

You should try again. Leonard is hit or miss, mostly because of the sheer volume, but he's more hit than miss. His characters are better than the writing itself, but still worthwhile. I think they do a pretty good job of capturing that spirit on "Justified," actually. Which is also relevant.

i dont think they were ever in on him...seems pretty clear that their stratey during FA was to hit on low level guys..which really is the right way to go for them since this was a pretty terrible market

i think four is the best player on their board as it should be....if thats miliner then so be it but i dont think what they do in FA will dictate that first round pick....it may influence later picks....like maybe now they take a corner in the second round where there should be a bunch of good corners in that late first to mid second round range

i heard that too re: nate allen....im not ready to echo his sentiments but i think nate allen should be back...hes at least semi competant and still has a inkling of a ceiling...when you have as many holes as they had coming into this offseason you cant expect to fill every one of them and nate allen is one guy that you can put up with for another year or two...hes also a guy who can get better with more talent on the D in general....as opposed to a kurt coleman who should not be ever be on the field
