Wow. With those odds, I'd put money on Oakland or Jacksonville before I would the Eagles. I don't think those teams are better, but I don't think they're THAT much worse of a SB threat. Especially considering the Eagles have a new coach with not NFL experience and will be transitioning systems on both sides of the ball. If I'm going to throw money away, at least give me the better value.

I stand corrected.  I mentioned during the game that it appeared that Niner fans outnumbered Ravens,  Far from it.  Coworker of mine who lives in the Bay Area said his neighbor went and said easily 60/40 Ravens maybe even more.  They owned the city all week and the dome.  Was very disappointed in Niner fan turnout.   Tried to argue the distance thing but he said it's a fairly inexpensive flight from San Jose or Oakland to New Orleans and might even be cheaper than a direct flight from Baltimore or DC.

You and I are probably the same, except I'm not depressed. Why, because its another year without one? Or because no football talk until free agency?

same as always.....watching another team win one....

this was a little worse cause the team was 10 minutes from my house

and baltimore is like a mini philly in a lot of ways so i could relate that much more closely to their joy....all in all it just super depressing...only thing keeping it from being suicidal is that the eagles completely sucked this year and had no chance

The only thing that kept me from going all in for the Ravens was the double murderer.

If you look at it from a different perspective, following the Eagles gives you as high a spike in emotions in the negative side of things as winning a superbowl. So, we are truly blessed to be following a team that can give us this experience. One would argue that following the Cardinals, Lions, Browns is the same thing, but they don't have the potential that the Eagles do. Following other mediocre teams like the Jaguars, Browns, Lions, etc. They offer no realistic hope, but the Eagles always have the potential, which makes our valleys that much lower and our depressions that much deeper.

It's quite a thing to be an Eagles fan. You almost have to hate yourself a little bit to allow the negativity flow through you. We're like that lost peoples they find in caves with scars on their faces seeing the light for the first time; feisty, hungry, thick skinned. They survive on scraps of hope, but can only live with the familiarity of desolation, hopelessness, and let downs. We don't know nothing else. When generations come and go without achieving triumph, it just reinforces what we already know. The good stuff in life ain't for us. When the outsiders try to understand, they can't relate. They haven't lived in the caves. They haven't been in the fights amongst the tribe. They haven't made the sacrifices for the Eagle God. But every new season, the rituals start again. The shamans give hope to the tribe of a fruitful harvest. We put on our traditional  markings, head gear, and dress that distinguishes our tribe from the others; we sing our chants, say our prayers, and gather in multitudes to see if this is the year the Eagle god decends upon us and delivers us from this torment. But every year its the same, the newest members display unrealistic hope and they get beat down by the the elders who see the same patterns year after year. Quickly the young members learn that to being too outspoken and optimistic paints them as members who do not yet see and understand the truth. It is the cynicism of the older more experienced members that set the tone and eventually as the harvest dies out, that cynicism is re-inforced and it is back to the darkness of the caves as we hear the tones and chants of the other tribe's successes. As the tribe hibernates through the winter, the dream spirit visits us and energizes our souls with chants of E-A-G-L-E-S....EAGLES!. The dream she brings is fuzzy, it has a silver, shiny relic being hoisted up by the tribe...although we do not yet see clearly what this is, we survive through the winter on this hope that the dream is not a dream and more of a vision that will one day come.

Totally forgot about you during the Super Bowl Truck.  At least the niners future looks bright.

Every team that loses the SB looks like they have a bright future, but for some reason they never make it back.
