But I'd only get rid of a few players to send a message like Trent Cole, Vick, Asomugha, McBriar, Dunlap...
With the exception of a very few players I would sit the entire 1st string for the rest of the year and see what we have w/ backups and see if it can develop some team cohesion
Even though the pickings are slim, try to take a QB first in draft bc Foles is not the answer
Try to pull O'Brien from PSU (highly doubt he'd come to Philly)
Develop a solid 2-3 year plan to get back on track....

However this is a lesson in futility bc this team has so many issues I wouldn't know where to begin....

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see Lurie firing Howie.  We're stuck with this putz for awhile.  Fatty will be the fall guy (the much deserved fall guy), they'll get a yes man in here, that will fail, rinse and repeat.  The last descent draft was 2002 with Lito, Sheldon, Lewis & B West.  The choice of Shady is the one exception.  How an organization can have 10 straight unproductive drafts is inexcusable.  Just ridiculous.  Hopefully a new coaching staff can revitalize this thing but I'm still very concerned with Howie as the captain of this ship.

It pretty much starts and ends with Howie, imo. Reid is gone. Most of, if not all of the coaching staff is gone.  The underperforming players are gone.  If Roseman is still in, I'll most likely be out until he's gone. Not that Lurie will miss what little money I spend on them anyway, but I guess I gotta draw a line somewhere.

It depends on the coach/QB combo.

They'll scrap the stupid wide-9 and Mudd scheme and hopefully the new coach has a good scheme and philosophy. He will be a Howie guy so they should have a working relationship.

They need three years of solid drafts and personnel moves. So yeah, fire Roseman.

If that's not a possibility, they need a coaching staff that can get these guys disciplined and scheme them to mitigate the absolute worst of the deficiencies. And they need to clear out the not-insignificant number of guys who aren't legit NFL players and plug in vets that may be limited but at least won't embarrass themselves. Not sure if that's enough to gain respectability, but at least they won't suck dick as badly as this year's team. Then fire Roseman.

Well the division still is pretty sucky unless washinton is really onto something. It could be that a plan like SF to go from laughable to respectable with the old tried and true:

Focus on defense, put in a managed running offense that wont lose a game but also gone are the days of the big play, a couple good retreads on ST and draft OL, and 8/8 9/7 isn't a reach for even next year. Jesus just stopping penalties and turnovers seems low hanging fruit...farg just having some heart woulda won at least a game or two more.

farg up the coaching decision badly and then its kotite bar the door. And its not even the coach cult of personality so much as can the coach assemble coordinators and a reasonable strategy in short time?
