Mosher suggests trading out of the first round completely and picking up four or five 2nds and 3rds instead.  fkkkk no

He also used Gaines Adams as an example of #4 picks that busted.  "He was out of the league after only 3 years!"  Yeah, well the dying thing sorta helped with that...

Zanshin

I'd argue that if we played a dead Gaines Adams out of position at CB, he would have been an upgrade over Nnamdi last year.

id trade out of the first entirely but somewhere in the return would have to be someones 2014 #1

igy gettin it done like warrick

Matt Kalil was drafted #4 last year.

A.J. Green was drafted there in 2011.

Trent Williams in 2010.

All Pro Bowlers.

Now, if there's a team in the universe that could break a string like that it would be our Iggles, but still... throwing Gaines Adams' name out there as "PROOF!" they should do it is, well, you know.

easy misrepresenting moshers stance by just bringing up gaines adams

his piece is below and in it mosher mentions aj green - kalil and trent williams....he does mention adams but he also mentions jamarcus russell and darren mcfadden

the basis of his argument is not gaines adams...its that this draft is not top heavy but it is very depth heavy...which is actually a really valid argument whether you agree with it or not

It would be if the Eagles had Ozzie Newsome running the personnel department.

def agree with this but i also agree with moshers thinking....except you are not moving out of the first like they did in the kolb trade....you are moving from the top 5 to the second round....that HUGE....and if im gonna do that i want a potential difference maker and a #1 next year could do that....moving down 30+ spots into the second round is not worth a few extra second day picks imo

id like to move down and get warmack or cooper

Curry was the other #4 pick he brought up

I'd be OK with trading out of the first if the Eagles were picking in the 20s, but it's hard to buy into a plan where it's better to have Manuel, Jamar Taylor, Kyle Long, a mid-level LB and a mid-level DL than having Joeckel/Fisher/Jordan/Star, Manuel and a 3rd-rd CB/OT.  And if the Eagles are getting a #1 next year in a deal, I don't want it to be something in the bottom quarter, but you aren't going to get Oakland, Jacksonville, San Diego or the Jets to trade next year's pick

Rome

By trading down or out you're simply making it more difficult for a personnel team that has shown no ability to pick the right guy when he's there, much less having to get lucky and have someone fall to them.

If they mess up #4 it's going to be a monumental shock because there's 5 guys in the top 5 that are going to be franchise-quality starters for a decade.  Now, they could pull a re-re move and take Geno there, but I doubt Kelly is going to allow that to happen.

No.  Just take Fisher or Joekel (or even Lane Johnson) and be thankful you finally had a shot to find someone to protect whatever golden boy quarterback you're going to select next year or later in this draft.  This is such a no-brainer it defies description.

OT's have lost a lot of value in the new nfl....mobile qb's....read options....shorter drops...quick throws...ect...have all lessened the amount of time the tackle has to hold blocks....the days of everyone having a pro set offense where you take a seven step drop bounce around on your toes and survey the field is happening less and less...defenses are sending pressure up the middle more than ever and from a myriad of areas...its not just about focusing on the edge...i dont say this because im anti tackle and i would be happy with one but at 4 one of the tackles isnt in my top three options at that spot

And yet the last time the Eagles had a quarterback play a full season was...

The man. The myth. The legend.

If they get a 10 year starter at OT it will be a miracle but even if they just get a good starter it would cure two problems (move Wost back to OG) with one move.

i dont know that one of those guys will be a better OT in the nfl than todd herremans....however i do know that warmack especially but also cooper will be 1 billion times better at guard than the fireman...this is why i would go OG
