I know SD has been preaching it for a while, but is the o-line really that bad? Vick is a more terrible QB than he was in Atlanta, at least then he had speed. I'd jump on the Foles bandwagon, but Vick will undoubtedly be injured soon.

QB Eagles

By my count, the Eagles intended to get the ball in Shady's hands (via run or pass) 33 times. However, they used him terribly:

20 times = gained yards
4 times = lost yards/no gain
4 times = called back for penalty
3 times = incomplete pass
2 times = someone fumbles

Clay Harbor did a better job one on one blocking than Dunlap did. He's terrible.

Someone pointed it out in the preseason thread, but when Foles is in, he steps up in the pocket, and avoids a lot of the pressure that Vick sees from dropping back and rolling out every play.

Part of the problem with Vick and calling a spade a spade is, outside of the first few games he played in 2010, he is incapable of playing with consistency.  He'll still have a few games where he looks like an all-pro but it isn't sustainable.  So, even if they make the playoffs, he can't rip off 3/4 games in a row without having a huge blow-up.  Just not possible, especially as the teams get better with better schemes to throw at him.  Once you make that determination about him, what's the point really?

If only there were some way to have his rib injuries coincide with the weeks he's going to play like shtein.

Rome

I wonder if Lurie was sitting in his box pondering what we were - that is, why the farg isn't this fat bastich running the ball against an atrocious defense especially with Vick playing so poorly?

It's just astounding.  The worse the quarterback plays the more they throw it.  I could see if they didn't have a All-Pro caliber running back or even a marginal one, but they have one of the best runners in the game and they just don't give it a second thought until it's almost too late.   Stubborn oaf.

Seriously.

I almost don't want to watch next week. I'm trying to look at the big picture and I'm asking myself if its worth it to waste 3 hours of my time watching the shteinfest we call an offense...or should I just sleep or go run errands. I'm thinking Dio knows something the rest of us don't.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Awful and completely deserved by yesterday's effort.

That's because the Eagles need a system QB not a rogue gunslinger. It's why Mcnabb was so effective in this offense. He stuck to the system and improvised when he needed to. Vick improvises as soon as the ball is snapped. I hear a lot of fans/media say "where's the guy we saw the first 7 games of 2010". That guy was trying to win a spot so he played disciplined football for the first time in his career. Now that he's comfortable he's back to the same scrambling mess he's always been.

I want to see what Reid had to say in the post-game presser and I don't want to read through this entire thread. Someone should help me with that.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?
