And Howard goes down looking. At least he didn't blow his ankle out trying to swing.

Geowhizzer

Third strike was borderline but too damn close to take.  Unfortunately, he wouldn't have hit it anyway.

Rome

Why the farg is Howard even playing at this point?  Time to call it a season for him.  Get him back to completely rehabbing that leg of his.  Once that's healed completely they can start to rebuild his swing because he looks like an unfolding lawn chair right now.

And even if CC was injured not even the Yankees would take on Lee's deal.

just because they trade him doesnt mean the other team is picking up the deal

maybe they take on 75% and get a killer prospect. though really i cant imagine rube trading him unless someone is eating the money. but for example if texas dangles mike olt and a 15% tab on lee i do it because olt could be that good.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

It's like he was never gone.

You should apply for the Phillies GM spot once Ruben gets shteincanned. Great insight.

Oswalt gets roped the other night,  Dempster gets roughed up tonight but thankfully the Rangers score 15, just saying...........................

I hear Lee stormed into RAJ's office and threatened him physically after finding out about waivers.
Actually, that's a lie.

In other news, my favorite tweet about this situation was this:
"The Phillies put Cliff Lee on wafers because he's delicious."

Why put him on waivers? Nobody is going to claim him and now he's going to be disgruntled. What an idiotic move.

every team puts a ton of players on waivers at this time.  they are giving themselves a chance to make a trade.  it's a non-story.

Rumor is Ruben got angry that Cliff went to Chick Fil A on 8/1

I heard it was because RAJ felt Lee showed him up by shagging some balls in CF and by stealing that base the other night.

Munson

I heard it's because RAJ Al Ghul had plans to burn the city but was stopped by Batman and Cliff Lee

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
