The Doyers are about the only team I didn't want to see Vic go to.  Sure, it'll be funny for about 2 seconds watching the fans who hate him suddenly talk about how great he is, but the Phils just armed the team that very well may be the dominant team in the NL for the next 5+ years.

Not on his own. But do you think the Dodgers feel satisfied and will stop making moves?  They're loading up and they'll keep loading during the offseason and the Phils just made a small contribution to it.

Basically, if the Phils are able to get back in the mix in 2014, the a dodgers will likely be their biggest competitor in the NL.

phattymatty

whew. good to know the nationals won't be in the mix again after this year.

It's more likely that the Dodgers won't re-sign Victorino anyway.

i dont necessarily disagree with any of this...in fact last year when you and others were saying the dodgers wouldnt sign matt kemp much less be big players in the national league anytime soon i was saying the franchise would sell and go crazy with money under new ownership

but the dodgers will not be the team to beat because they acquired shane victorino as it sounded like you were suggesting

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Done: Shane Victorino has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Lindblom and Ethan Martin

phattymatty

i will be tailgating around 5 if anyone here is going tonight. might be your last chance to see some of these losers.

Munson

And now the Pence/Giants tlaks are heating back up.

Unless they're getting Gary Brown back I'd rather they hold onto Pence until the offseason. Wade fleeced them for Pence and they aren't going to get what they gave up for him.

Martin is a high ceiling guy, Rube did better for an expiring Victorino than I though he would. Not to mention the salary they cleared.
