TORONTO — The left side of Antonio basticho's face looks as if he entered a boxing ring, but he merely stepped foot in the weight room Wednesday. It was after he allowed a run to Minnesota and he was not pleased with his effort.

He took his anger out on a squat machine, which returned the favor. He required stitches to close a large cut above his left eye, which was nearly swollen shut after Friday's game.

basticho insisted he could see out of the eye, and demonstrated by covering his right one and pretending to punch a reporter in the face. But he was not available to pitch Friday barring an emergency situation and could need a few more days to recover.

i know its a broken record but the phillie broadcasts are an abomination on every level....you think at some point it has to stop getting worse but it never does...when you would rather watch in silence by muting your home teams broadcast its as bad as it gets

there cant be a worse announcing tandem in sports history than wheels and mcarthy can there?

Even the generic teams of some of the opposing teams I watch are fine because they're just guys.

I do find the Nats and Marlins teams more annoying though. So Wheels and TMac are third worst. I do love Sarge though.

the nationals announcers might be worse in a technical sense but they arent even on the same planet as far as being annoying...dan carpenter is a disgrace of epicness and is still easily better than mcarthy....thats just how bad carts is
