no im insinuating that in the first inning its retarded to sacrifice a guy to third with no outs...it limits your run total for the inning...an inning where you are looking for as many runs as you can get....its not 1-1 in the 8th where you are trying to scrap a run across...plus you had a guy up who doesnt strike out and is most likely going to hit the ball to the right side anyway

You could say the same thing about the pen.  They've blown quite a few leads in the 7th and beyond.  Gotta imagine that even reducing those losses by half gives them and extra 3 or 4 wins as well.
