3 for 21 with RISP the last two days.  At least they're consistent.

farg, give him 7 years. Or 6 with a vesting option. I don't care about the years, dude is young. As long as they can convince him to stay for 20 mil AAV.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

They'll settle on 6.

That's what I'm thinking.  Jimmy had a semi-ridiculous "demand" too and they were able to work it out.  If Hamels has any real desire to stay, then I think they'll work it out.

Hamels has injury concerns but has managed to stay healthy and also generally improve as a pitcher more and more. He should definitely still be able to pitch well into his mid-30's.

Let's just say it wouldn't be the worst long-term deal Amaro brokered.

a six year deal would be iffy...a seven year deal would be assinine

and any deal without moving halladay or lee first would not be prudent and probably wont happen anyway

I still don't know what all these injury concerns are...at least any more than any other pitcher.

Difference is that Rollins wasn't getting five years from anyone.  Hamels will more than likely get 7 in FA.

This team has no future, and it's kind of depressing.

Joe Blanton has a 2.9 ERA and the Phillies are under .500.

pretty sure with Hamels/Lee/Halladay/Worley (who has been pretty good too) if you said Blanton would be this good, even with how bad the offense is, I would have guessed they'd be doing pretty well right now.

i am so glad there is a sixers game on because this game is hideous
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
