I saw one of the beat guys say that his defense in LF has been embarrassingly bad.

They probably do care more about defense these days now that they don't have much offense.

you can get away with bad lf defense, regardless of how good or bad your lineup. it just depends how much offense the player has and how bad the defense is.

burrell didnt misread balls, had a good arm and got on base 40% of the time. so his statue defense was fine. ibanez was a poor mans version of that.

pierre cant hit the ball out of the infield, has a noodle arm and no range. he is a purposeless player. unless dom's defense is beyond hideous there is no sense in him toiling in AAA.
