I had to be on the road by 3:30am to get my kids to the airport (where I am right now), so I went to bed around 9:30 last night. In short, farg new years and farg you too.

Slept right through it. I figured today and tomorrow were going to be clusterfargs and I had gone out on Thursday night to watch FSU/ND anyway, so...

I did wake up shortly after midnight to the sounds of some assbag firing a gun off on the beach. Hopefully they were shooting toward the ocean.

Agreed but if they're going to shoot themselves I'd prefer they'd do so in a direction where all they might take out otherwise is a random grouper.

i was at a bar along the gulf and they had a mini fireworks show out on the water.

and people were taking video of it.

yes. people were filming video of a crappy fireworks show that in no way shape or form anybody wants to ever watch. like who does that. oh there are fireworks let me film it. so what, you can watch it again and relive the memories of a cheap fireworks show? does anyone want to see that?

It's a human thing. Happens everywhere. Idiots love lights. Christmas lights, fireworks, skylines...whatever. Goes back to when we all lived in caves or something.

Pretty quiet here. First time ever fireworks were illegal here. Passed the law in late 2010. I am happy with it. The amount of cash we wasted on supplying a small militia every year makes me sick. Few illegals around the neighborhood but by 12:05 all quiet on the western front.

Ended up watching "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" on Netflix with junior. Hadn't seen it in years. My son loved it. Had a wonderful bottle of Pinot Noir earlier in the evening but made what was probably the worst Margarita known to man for the big show. We paused at midnight to shake hands as my wife was asleep on the couch.
