Sixers needed someone to step up.  Iggy played well but had some brainfarts.  No guards made an appearance.

PhillyPhreak54

They should have won this farging game.

PhillyPhreak54

I want answers as to why such a poor shooting team continues TO TAKE OUTSIDE SHOTS.

Why don't they drive the farging ball?

MDS

shut up

offseason plan

get dwight howard or andrew bynum
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PhillyPhreak54

And work on free throw shooting.

And in Evan Turnerover's case...not being a farging retard

Howard or Bynum aren't happening but I can't wait till Iggy and Hawes are off the team. Bag on Turner all you want but he has upside and can fill in for Iggy. I'm not even gonna hate on Iggy, he had a nice playoffs and exceeded my expectations but this is as far as you're going to go with him so what's the point of keeping him around. Once Pierce fouled out they needed to step up but didn't. Sucks but that's why I'm shteinfaced right now.

ET only has upside if he can develop an outside shot.  He isn't athletic enough to get to the hole with consistency unless he develops a threat to knock down shots so that people have to play up on him.  I can't stand any more of the crash into someone's body and throw your arms in the air move.

Lou and Thad, two of their best players, were AWOL most of the playoffs.  Brand tried but he has nothing left.  Hawes is garbage.  I thought Allen looked overwhelmed tonight, but he stepped up most of the playoffs.  Holiday has the ability but he's still waaaay too hit or miss.

Don Ho

Lou actually made up for his mediocre play with several big shots but Young was playing like he was in the witness protection program.  Horrible series for him.

First step would be to play him on a consistent basis. I know Doug hates him but at least he came to his senses during the playoffs. Don't get me wrong I'd have no problem moving the guy in the right situation but at the same time he's an adequate replacement for Iggy and there's no need to go any further with Captain FT.

Thad has had a horrible season. I don't know if he just said farg it after he got his extension but he hasn't been the same player. You saw little spurts of the old Thad here and there but overall he's had a bad season. Lou Will I'd like to keep but I'm not breaking the bank to do so.

ice grillin you

sd your mantra for two years was trade iguodala because thad is an nba starting three waiting to happen and would be much better than andre....theres about as much of a chance of et now doing that than there was thad...altho obviously turner has a better game

i wouldnt think twice about moving iguodala but his replacement is not on the roster
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

reese125

that was embarrassing last night. boston was shooting like shtein, turned the ball over, and a bad flow to their offense and the sixers played exactly like them.

once again their jv offense took court and got exposed for the zesty inconsistent shooters they are. hawes shouldnt of even got in the car to come to the game. matter of fact he should either look into broadcasting or get shipped to the d league right now.

and nobody is to be moved to a particular position to make up for someone else. this team has overhaul written all over it. if i had to choose id keep jrue and maybe turner if gained 15 lbs in the offseason and hired reggie miller as his personal coach.

I think Turner killed them this series to be honest.  Shot a very low %, was awful with +/-, was too slow to cover Rondo and not rangy enough to cover Pierce, and turner the ball over too frequently.  The only thing he consistently brought was rebounding.

IF he develops a jumper, he will be a good player, so I'm not recommending shipping him off for nothing, but his jumper is as bad as it was at OSU right now.

I have no problem keeping Iggy unless they get a good deal.  He only has two years left, right?  He's evolved his game enough to realize he isn't an offensive superstar.  I'd certainly move him for the right package, but it isn't a necessity.

Sometimes you have to take 2 steps back to take 1 step forward. I'll concede they're a better team with Iggy at the 3 when he plays the way he's capable of playing but this past series was the pinnacle of his time here and I don't see much of a bright future. He's worth keeping just for his dazzling dunks and defense but what is the end result in keeping him? Who knows what they have with ET, some times he's damn good other times he's brain dead, but I think they owe it to the team to find out what they have. Guys been in the league for 2 seasons and this is the first time he's gotten serious PT.

My bottom line on Iggy/ET is one of them has to be moved. You're either going to move Iggy so ET can get more playing time or you're moving ET for a big man or a shooter. I really have no preference and although I'm an Iggy hater he had his best season despite his stats not telling the whole story.

And say what you want about getting a shooter - because as we've all seen they need to hit the open looks - but this is still a league that still revolves around the play of your big men. You get a guy who can play well in the paint and the rest of the court opens up. I actually wouldn't mind Hawes coming back as a rotation guy but that's unrealistic because someone is going to overpay him because he's tall and can be plugged in to start.

Some times the best moves are the ones you don't make. Odom playing up to his potential would have been a good idea but they must have known he was a head case.

QuoteAndre Iguodala was nearly traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Los Angeles Lakers last June. In the hours leading up to the 2011 NBA Draft, the two teams were discussing a potential deal that would've sent Iguodala to Los Angeles in exchange for several pieces including Lamar Odom and a draft pick.

The Lakers were ready to pull the trigger on the deal and the Sixers strongly considered it. However, Philadelphia ultimately turned down the trade because they believed that Odom would be unhappy and unmotivated after being dealt from Los Angeles.

After watching Odom struggle with the Dallas Mavericks and get dismissed from the team in April, there's no question that Philadelphia made the right decision. Their read on Odom was entirely accurate – he had the worst year of his career, averaging 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds – and now they find themselves one game away from the Eastern Conference Finals.

However, if the Sixers are eliminated by the Boston Celtics in Game 7, the general consensus around the league is that they'll try to trade Iguodala this summer. Even with Philadelphia's recent success, league sources insist that Iguodala is a player who could be moved this offseason if the right offer comes along.

The Lakers, who are looking to shake their roster up this offseason, are expected to once again emerge as a potential suitor for Iguodala. The 28-year-old would be an excellent fit for Los Angeles and solve their problem at small forward. Sources close to the situation say that Kobe Bryant would welcome the move since he has wanted the Lakers to acquire an athletic, versatile small forward for several years.

I can't see the Lakers giving up Bynum for Iggy + a player like Vuc. Maybe if the Sixers sweeten the pot with a guy like Jrue they'd go for it but to me that's too much value. A more reasonable option is Gasol, he's in his 30's but he's the sort of big man they'd need. Do they do something like this who knows but I like the talk.
