It's well documented that I can't stand Iguodala and despite what I'm about to write if they traded him tomorrow I'd say it was a great deal regardless of what they got for him.

The biggest difference between this season, last season, and especially the Eddie Jordan season is that Iguodala now plays as part of a team and not like a guy who thinks he can take over the game with his sloppy play. He plays within the confines of the offense and is part of the machine. He cut back on the errant drive to the lane and take a one legged off balanced jumpers. He doesn't mind swinging out to the wing or dishing the ball off. I attribute this to Collins (obviously) because if you listen to Iguodala during interviews now compared to when Jordan was the coach the difference is night and day.

he hasnt changed one bit....he was the best player on the team five years ago with limitations and hes the best player on the team now with the same limitations....you dont have to make up stuff about how hes somehow a different player now...just admit you overly hated on him

Nope...I still hate him and want him off the team. I hate his attitude. I don't question his athleticism and at times he plays like a very good (not elite) player. The main reason I couldn't stand him is because he played above the team...like the rules didn't apply to him. He didn't play within the system and never stepped up to the leadership role. The difference this season is he's actually playing like he's part of the team. Again, they release him tomorrow and I shed no tears. They're still 9-3 if he's not on the team. What I wrote was more of a testament to Doug Collins and his ability to sell team ball to Iguodala than it does to Iguodala as a basketball player.

he's pretty irrelevent.  they can win or lose a game without him or with him in the lineup
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

But if they want to beat the best teams, they are going to need to iggys defense.

exactly...

defense is something that normal fans dont recognize or understand but its the foundation for a winning team in the nba and iguodala is a top defender...and not just a top defender but most nights he defends the other teams best player

yeah, he really did good work on Carmello when they needed him.  his defense is so farging overrated it's not funny.  yeah, he can shut down a mediocre to below average player.  anybody with above average skill gets what they want.

he pretty much ate up carmelo....if you watched that game and thought he didnt then you just hate the guy no matter what he does

his defense this year has been top notch on everyone as it has been since half way thru his rookie year

Carmelo was 9-24 and of the 9 he hit a couple were just crazy shots that he would have hit if Anthony Toney had been draped all over him.

His defense has always been under appreciated but like I said earlier they're still 9-3 at this point if he's not on the team. The only part of him I like is his D because it shows that he's a little bit of an unselfish player. Still want him off the team.

i totally disagree with this but will you admit that you could take any player off the team and still say they would be 9-3 right now

No.

They take Jrue off this team I think they're in the 7-5 range. I think Hawes is more valuable than Iguodala. That has more to do with the position he plays than it does his skill. I'd still take Thad over Iguodala. Would like to see Turner get some more PT at the 3. Brand they should have amnestied.
