Just curious, is this one of your mondays off, or are you posting this from work?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

He's going to die on the sidelines before the season even starts.

Dudes like that can quickly lose their grip on the group. He's a curb stomper. Not saying I don't like it, but if the team tunes him out, he's done. Maybe that's the type of drill instructor these Hoydas need to get them playing like men, at least finishing games with like men instead of fat little vaginas.

It just seems that dudes like that have a shorter wick. But again, maybe that's what this team needs.

i dont think just because you get fired up like that means you dont pick your spots when doing it...i wont pretend to know the guy at all but whose to say he doesnt blow up like that but once a year

there are lots of outwardly boisterous coaches who have long successful careers....cowher madden lombardi....and many others who go off on their teams but more behind the scenes...belichek

then theres lots of coaches who are low key who get tuned out

i wouldnt worry about a correlation btwn being vociferous and losing your team

either the guy can coach and hold a locker room or he cant....hopefully we find out first hand

Re-watch the video and concentrate on the players faces. There was no discord which is practically unheard of with modern players. You can pull that act as long as your team buys it. I doubt he pulls that every game but when your team is sucking ass or not giving full effort it's merited.

QuoteBut the ex-Eagles coach, upon his formal introduction as the Chiefs new head coach, subtly gave some insight into why it all went so wrong during his last two seasons.

Asked if the decline could have been avoided if he had more say on the direction of the team, Reid said no. But he did intimate that the "joint effort" of the Eagles' decision-makers was no longer producing the desired results.

"This is what's important, that everybody is pulling in the same direction," Reid said Monday at Arrowhead Stadium. "It's really not one guy making the decision. That's not how it works.

"When it's working right, it's a joint effort to make the decision. It's not one guy sitting in there with a hammer. When that gets out of whack it goes downhill real fast. If that's skewed at all, it goes downhill real fast."

The Eagles went downhill, but how fast it occurred is up for debate. But over Reid's final two seasons, the team went 8-8 and then 4-12 without a playoff appearance after he went 128-82-1 and reached the playoffs in nine of his first 12 seasons with the Eagles.

"It didn't end the way any of us wanted it to end," Reid said. "That's the bottom line. It was completely my responsibility. When you have a chance to step back here in the last few days, really it was the body of work that took place over time. That's what I will remember. I won't remember the last game or the last year."

Looks weird seeing him in front of the Chiefs logo

QuoteJaworski says Jon Gruden would be interested in Eagles

Largely ignored for the first week of the 2013 hiring cycle, former Raiders and Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden seems to be doing his damnedest to create a market where none apparently exists.

Via John Clark of NBC10 in Philly, former in-booth partner Ron Jaworski of ESPN said on 97.5 The Fanatic that:  (1) Jaworski has spoken to Gruden; (2) the Eagles haven't reached out yet to Gruden; and (3) Gruden would be interested.

So much for Gruden being committed to ESPN.

Earlier today, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the Browns "might be" interested in Gruden.  We promptly learned that the more accurate term is "aren't."

The end result seems to be an effort to inject Gruden into the discussion for one or more of the vacant jobs.  And that's an effort no one (especially Gruden) ever thought would be necessary when it comes to his return to the NFL.  Everyone (especially Gruden) believed teams would be falling all over themselves to hire him.

Now, it looks like Gruden is falling all over himself to attract some/any interest.

1. Get Gruden!!

2. Bury him under concrete in the endzone
