Didn't Lurie say at the beginning of the year that Reid is gone if he doesn't win? If Lurie is a man of his word, Reid is gone after this year.

Andy says he won't quit because it's a cop out and how can he ask his players not to quit if he quits?

1)  They have already quit

2)  You won't have to ask them not to quit, because you won't farging be there.  Just do us all a favor you piece of shtein and quit

Yeah, he did.  But I really don't know if he has it in him to fire Reid. Time will tell.

Not from this fan. The Super Bowl against the Pats was literally eons ago and the Eagles barely even made the playoffs in 2008 (9-6-1; say whaaa? regular season football games can end in a tie?? weird) before they lost yet another NFCCG.

Hard to believe that was 8 years ago.  One Super Bowl would have got him a pass, barely.  He wins that last game at The Vet, destroys Oakland in the Super Bowl, pass for life.

reid's legacy in the city would be different long-term if they had won in '04.  I think the fans would still probably want him gone at this point, but he would be remembered more fondly 10-20 years from now if they had won.

PG's writer buddy got upset when I referred to Reid as a buffoon on FB today.  He said I sounded ignorant when I refer to the coach with the most wins in Eagles history that way.  I suggested to him that Reid's had 14 years to get it right and failed miserably and that I don't know a single Eagles fan who doesn't want him gone at this point.

BUT HE HAS THE MOST WINS EVER!

Oh... no... way...

I think he will. He fired Banner, smacked his wife in the forehead with a divorce, and had the balls to say Reid would be gone if things don't improve, which pretty much no owner will do, and publicly said he told Reid he needed to be more fan/media friendly. Even if it ended up that Reid went 9-6 and missed the playoffs my guess is he is still history.

He would also be remembered more fondly if he wasn't so smug to fans/media.

They nailed it in that video. Most Eagles fans do like like ugly inbred pieces of shtein. Case in point, look at the kid in the video. The true definition of insanity? Being an Eagles fan thinking that one day it is going to happen for us and that there will be redemption for all of the pain and suffering this team puts us through.

Fact is, that it will most likely never happen and this is as good as its going to get. We'll get to see unique talent that goes to waste, strong teams that catch bad breaks and never make it, all the while New York, Dallas, and Washington win championships around us.

...and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's a slow, painful death.

Cheers  :yay

I don't think he's a buffoon - he pretty much turned the team around and kept them relevant for a long time. Of course it sucks that he did not win a SB and some of his personnel decisions and coaching philosophies are maddening but in the big picture he was not a complete failure like some have him portrayed to be.

Is it time for him to go?

Yes.

I was and am an Andy fan and I hope he succeeds elsewhere but it is time for fresh blood.

I don't know how anyone can doubt it at this point... Reid is gone after the season. In fact at this point I'd be less surprised if Lurie fired him during the season than if Lurie kept him. It's gotten that intense.

If the Eagles run the table and get into the playoffs in a bullshtein way I guess he could survive, but c'mon. Lurie might not give a shtein what Eagles fans think (even though I'm pretty sure he does), but even the national media is largely against Reid now. The Eagles will be considered a joke if they roll into 2013 with the walrus coming off a 5-11 season, especially when the owner publicly said 8-8 wouldn't get it done.

The good times (which were really 2000-2004, the subsequent years were a faded team) are long over and don't matter at all. Thanks for the memories. Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry and then won three Super Bowls. Jerry is a nutjob but he got that call correct. Why isn't Dan Reeves coaching anywhere? Because he's over. It's not 1989. It's not 2002 either. Reid is over.

Lurie has to be prepping the dynamite (or thinking about selling it to someone else), only question is whether Roseman is caught in the blast. I hope so, the team needs new blood all around, new attitude, new approach.

Agreed. I only hate his play calling and his anti-linebacker, anti-running philosophy. I do like his aggressiveness in the air. When we had TO and Westbrook, it worked beautifully. Bad drafts, and bad luck have finally caught up to get guy and I think everyone needs a breath of fresh air including himself. I will miss the guy for the change he's brought. Not only did he make the Eagles relevant again, he instilled an attitude of winning and the expectation of winning amongst fans. I think its even more bitter because for once winning was a reality that we just quite couldn't achieve.

He's going to be great in San Diego/K.C./Cleveland/Detroit/Oakland/Jets/Miami/Minnesota/Jacksonville/Buffalo

Good luck Andy.
