Never won a god damned thing.

Exactly

His resume is impressive but he spent over a decade in one spot and never won squat. We already have a coach like that here. Just swap offense for defense. I'll pass on Fisher, I'd rather they went with an unknown than him to be honest.

Reid isn't going anywhere.  They owe him 10 million goddamn dollars.  Do you think Lurie wants to part with that sort of cash and pay another coach something similar?

We're all stuck with this oaf, so deal with it.

$10 million ain't shtein to Lurie especially if the fans stop buying merchandise and supporting the team like they are now. He can't afford to keep Reid especially when he shelled out a load of money on f/a's this offseason for 4-6 wins.

What they'll end up doing is firing Castillo, hiring a legit d-coordinator, and Lurie will issue some sort of vague statement about commitment to winning it all at some point.

Trust me, it's science.

I disagree, this season is different. They thought they were one step away from the big game and broke the bank and it didn't work out. It's not like past seasons where they added a decent f/a then disappointed us with another zesty draft. This year they went for it and Reid didn't come through. Someone has to pay. Juan is also Reid's mistake.

I'll throw this out there:

You're Lurie and you fire Reid. You have your pick of whatever coach is out there, do you give an unknown like a coordinator a shot or do you go with an established guy?

The "god complex" with this team isn't limited to Andy. Lurie hired Reid when he was a nobody o line coach so I have no doubt he'll try to do the same whenever he hires a new coach.

Also, as much as Im ready for Reid to go, I would gladly take 5 more years of him in exchange for getting rid of Roseman and Banner and replacing them with real football guys.

I'd like to see Fisher as the coordinator. No idea if he's willing to go back to coordinating though.

I agree that Reid is not going anywhere.

However for discussion sake; why would you take a shot on an unknown? If they bomb on that selection it sets them back maybe 4 years. You take an established HC and give him the keys and let him do his thing.

And when I say established I mean a successful guy. Not some re-tread like Norv Turner or Chan Gailey or Dom Capers.

I don't know the answer to this myself, but has there been an "established successful head coach" that has gone to another team and won a superbowl?

please dont give me the get cowher or gruden mantra..

not that it matters, Reid probably will not be fired this year

I don't want Gruden. I wouldn't mind Cowher but I don't think he's as good as people make him out to be.

I would take Fisher in a hot second.

Sgt PSN

Not that I don't like Fisher, but it's funny that you'd take him over Cowher.

Mike Mccarthy, Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin...none of these guys were head coaches before they were hired by their respective teams, they won the last 3 superbowls. That's why you take a chance on an unknown if the guy is right.

What I think/hope will happen, is that Lurie shows Roseman the door, and moves Andy up to his GM spot. Then Andy can hire his own coach. I think Andy would be a good GM.

You could add the Harbaugh's in there too. But there are also many misses too.

Do you have the confidence that the Eagles brain trust, and I use that term lightly, could find another no-name guy like they did with Reid?

SD

Yes...Lurie is smart enough to do his homework. When it comes to hiring a HC he'll be the one making the final say, no way he lets the Jew's make that decision. Before he hired Reid he consulted everyone and their mother to make sure he was the right hire.

PhillyGirl

Guaranteed they get an up and comer. GUARANTEED.

And you're being ridiculous if you don't think Reid is gone. There isn't a chance in hell he is here after the season.

Common sense would say that's he's gone. Common sense has no place in predicting the Eagles.
