Just saw that and it makes no sense. I'd rather have his size and experience over anything Lilja offers.

looks to me like they are banking on the penguins coming out swarming at home in a game 1 and thus are clearly putting an emphasis on puck movement which is a kubina weakness and a lilja (and for that matter bourdon) strength

i cant wait to see giroux this series....hes the key other than bryz.....this is his first leading role in the postseason...he doesnt have richards or carter to kind of hide behind and play a background role...now the first guy hes gotta go head to head against in the playoffs is the best player in the world....i dont expect him to match crosby but if he can have a big series and stay in crosbys league and at least counter the opposite star player somewhat that will go  a long way towards giving the flyers a chance...plus with bryz in goal vs the pens offense its going to be key for the flyers top player to have a big series as they are going to have to score a lot

in the end the flyers are just not in a good place here.... its a bad match up in terms of experience...the flyers have six forwards and a defenseman who will play in this series 22 or younger and another (matt read) who is a rookie....i just think they are going to be overwhelmed against a team like pittsburgh...having talented young players like that brings you energy in the regular season but it generally gets exposed in the post season and none of these guys have ever been in a series like this
