not taking anything away from akers but is anyone else sick of all the point and yardage records that now get broken because the nfl has swayed so far towards offense...its making a mockery of the leagues history...accomplishments and records mean little anymore

id say its from the advent of black players beinng fully integrated and the new current rules....so maybe like 65 to 2000?...the window is open to interpretation but its still more than two years

You don't even realize how ridiculous you are.

What you're saying is that the era that you came up in, where you formed your attachments and learned the game and came to love the sport was the best era ever. And now you're complaining about how the game is changing and its impact on the records from your magical mystery years. Pretty funny because it makes you sound like an MA elder complaining about the newfangled way of things.

Don't get me wrong, I get it. I loved that era of the NFL, too. But don't act as though you have an unbiased opinion on the matter. What you're saying is, "I like it better the way it was during the years that I grew up watching it (and yay kelly green jerseys boner orgasm little fishies etc!)" which is normally something that you would mock others for.

actually im not saying that at all....the golden era of the nfl actually predates my formative years...altho it admittedly also includes them

and dont get it twisted i love the nfl these days and am not saying its terrible...im just saying all these records being broken and the attention they are getting is ridiculous...not a whole lot different than the baseball steroid era...which i enjoyed quite a bit...but lets be real the numbers are skewed...for different reasons obviously...but they both are equally off kilter
