something as simple as having your blood checked and seeing an inordinate amount of white blood cells can led to a cancer diagnosis...and thats just one example

Having an inordinate amount of wbcs most often indicates infection, especially acute bacterial.

There's no one "cancer," there are dozens and dozens of types, and in general a simple blood test won't provide a definitive diagnosis. Further labs, physical exam, imaging, biposy and pathology, patient history and family history, demographics (e.g. prostate cancer is more prevalent in males than females) all come into play and usually a number of the above are used when making a diagnosis.

the point is during a physical you have your blood taken...a crazy result from this blood test could lead to a cancer diagnosis...no idea if a brain tumor would cause an irregular blood test result tho

I can't believe I'm about to defend IGY here, but I think what he's trying to say is an abnormality on a blood test could lead them to test for different things, including cancer. Not that you can actually look at a blood test and say "hey look, cancer"

if any of you morons had read the thread someone mentioned how in depth a simple nfl physical must be to find a brain tumor...i was merely pointing out that a simple blood test could lead to a cancer diagnosis...if you couldnt figure that out you are trying to be the smartest guy in the room...not shocking that hipster elite and russ were all over it
