The Philadelphia Eagles will ask cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to restructure his contract or they will release him, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The two sides are meeting Friday in Indianapolis at the scouting combine. Asomugha is scheduled to make $15 million, $4 million of which is guaranteed.

There's truth to that. But if he was as awesome as advertised, the attitude would be a lot easier to tolerate. If he didn't suck you wouldn't even have a chance to be bothered by his attitude. The problem is he doesn't seem to care that he sucks.

There's plenty of corners out there that can be signed for the vet minimum and get beat just as badly.  He'll take the restructured deal because it's still probably better than anything he'd get on the open market, but I really don't see why the Eagles are making the offer in the first place.  Bad cornerbacks are a dime a dozen.

especially when you consider the fact that the zesty safeties basically magnify his weaknesses even more.

Nnamdi made #2 on the top 10 list of biggest busts in Philly sports history.  The little caption that goes along with his picture sums it up nicely.

When his contract with Oakland was nullified in 2011, Nnamdi Asomugha - a Pro Bowler, All-Pro, All-Decade cornerback - arrived in Philadelphia and naturally lost any and all evidence that he was a professional football player; but not before signing a $60 million contract.
