Another Ranger fan fell, but unlike last year, this one died.  The announcers thought it was funny (although tbf they had no idea at the time)...

Damn...looks like his kid was right there watching the whole thing too

Don Ho

Poor kid saw the whole thing.  That is horrible.

How bad do you think the announcers feel this morning. I know they had no idea he was killed but maybe they should have stopped and thought about opening their mouths before they discovered if the guy was injured or not.

shtein it looked funny as hell when he went over and the announcers are right when they said "all for a baseball"

i dont feel like they were that hard on the guy...they said they hoped he was alright

before watching it i was expecting them to be laughing out loud and whooping it up

How bad do you think Josh Hamilton will feel? Maybe he should have put a little more oomph into that toss into the stands.

It's a tragedy for the man's family, but at the same time that's a really dumb way to die. It's just a baseball, folks.

It's really sad and I feel for the family, but I hope that baseball doesn't overreact like hockey did when that little girl died.  I can totally see them outlawing throwing balls into the stands or putting up netting at the fence or some shtein.

the guy actually died of a heart attack on the way to the hospital

and how weird is it that this guy and the guy who fell out of the upper deck last year were both local firefighters

My best guess is that they'll work to increase the safety of the railings - try to make them more fool-proof.

If the Rangers or Hamilton gets sued, though... ballplayers may stop tossing the balls just to protect themselves.

they are going to have to change the building codes if they want to change the railings.

normal railing code height is 3'-6", but in stadiums, at seating areas, it's only 2'-2, which I always thought was a natural pivot point for somebody to fall over like last night.

the only place they make you have full height rails at a stadium is at the bottom of the aisle steps, and that is usually glass so that nothing blocks the line of sight.
