Damn.....Tampa started 0-6 and since then has gone 23-10 and now they lead the Yankees by 2 games in the division.   Pretty impressive.

Meanwhile, Whorehey Posada got butt hurt when Girardi wanted to bat him 9th yesterday so he decided to pull himself from the game.

QuoteIn the more desirable seats at Yankee Stadium, an already pricey $10.50 draft beer will run you an eye-popping $12.60 thanks to an involuntary 20 percent "service fee" tacked on to the original price. If the sticker shock doesn't make that brew bitter enough, consider this: Despite what you might expect, that extra $2 and change isn't going to the hustling server who sold it to you, according to a new lawsuit.

Legends Hospitality, the concessionaire co-owned by the New York Yankees, the Dallas Cowboys, and Goldman Sachs, allegedly pockets the 20 percent service fee attached to food and drink in violation of New York law, according to a class-action lawsuit filed against the company by three Yankee Stadium servers this week. If certified as class action, the suit could involve more than a hundred servers and hundreds of thousands of dollars in claims.

Is there any surprise that 3 of the most vilified businesses in this country are in cahoots together and apparently ripping off employees?

All this drama in the Bronx is making me happy in the zipper area.  First there was the offseason drama between Jeter and the front office.  Then there was Posada refusing to play over the weekend along with the potential class action lawsuit from employees.  And now apparently, Jeter told the media that Posada was right for what he did (even though Posada later admitted he was wrong) which is basically Jeter flipping off the front office.  It doesn't seem like much right now, when you throw that on top of a 5 game losing streak, including 3 to the Sawx and I have a feeling that the Yanks are going to crash and burn Corey Lidle style in the not too distant future.

Did I read correctly that the Nats are having a $1 ticket night tonight and half the goddamn stadium is empty?

Awful.

Sgt PSN

I don't know.  It's kind of hard to verify if you read something correctly if you don't provide a link to the source.

PhillyPhreak54

I was hoping one of the Beltway Boys who post here could confirm or deny. I'm posting from my phone so no linky linky.

phattymatty

its true tonight was $1 ticket night. and $1 hot dogs and sodas. although i clicked the link sometime over the weekend and it said they were sold out of them.

not that it matters, i never pay more than $5 to get in that stadium anyway.

Sgt PSN

I imagine that only a certain number of tix are $1 and the rest are regular price, right?

Vin Mazzarro gave up 14ER in 2-1/3 tonight.

Wow.

Wow.

But he'd one-hit the Phils over seven innings.

Lincecum just got smacked around in the 6th inning.

Really don't see pitchers being left out there long enough to give up that many runs.  8 seems to be a reasonable cutoff.  Dook must have pissed off the skipper or something.

I wanted to laugh at this but the reality set in that you're correct.

That Mazzaro guy was supposed to start tomorrow night, so he was relaxing, didn't throw, etc.  All of a sudden it's "get your ass in there against the best team in baseball" and he got smacked around.

The Mets just ran out of players, sent Niese up there with 2 outs and he smacked a triple to the fence, then Reyes struck out to lose 2-1
