That's hilarious. The Nats are 9-1 in their last 10 games. Have they ever had such a solid 10 game stretch since moving to DC? Have they ever been over .500 this late in the season? Definitely might want to think about extending the guy calling all the shots in the dugout.

At the very least, they should have offered to talk about it over the AS break.

Letting that guy walk out the door and signing Jayson Werth to $100+mil deals are the things that will keep this team in top 10 draft position for years to come.

I guarantee they were trying to milk a season of improvement with Harper and Strasburg on the horizon to make a power play for a big name manager and he sniffed it out and told them to suck a high hard one. Good for him.

Probably not, but you know management was licking their chops at a scrappy team that was learning how to win and would get an influx of talent over the next couple of years.
