You realize if the cardinals catch the braves, they're going to be here next week for the NLDS. There is/was no reason to make even the slightest attempt to win this game or series.

Although it would be nice to see Manual become the winningest manager in phillies history, if for no other reason it angers the fans who think they know more than he does.

if sports history shows the fans anything its that every team that has every shut it down early to rest players or because they feel there's no need to go into the playoffs on a hot streak have "always", i mean "always" won it all and there's zero reason to even bring up the thought that anything less than a parade is going to happen.

No, it was me and Rome throwing gasoline on the fire.

Although the Phillies have scored more than three runs only once in their last 11 games, nobody at One Citizens Bank Way seems concerned about a return to the offensive sluggishness that marked the first few months of the season and led to the trade that netted Pence. They have spent the last 3 months as one of the National League's most prolific offenses, despite a litany of nagging injuries that have sidelined Howard, Utley, Rollins, and Placido Polanco for various stretches of time.
