Looking over Ludwick's stats - traditional and otherwise - and he's no better than MAAAyberry. Either do it right or go with what we have.

Hell, take that woman Carlos Beltran over Ludwick.

MDS

they would never trade beltran in the division like that.

the royals guys like cabrera and frenchy have been rumored. thing is getting one of them would spell the end of hof brown for the year...which production wise isnt a terrible idea but im not sure what 2 months of lehigh valley is going to do for him. sending him back down is basically telling him hes not good enough.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

a right handed bat would not mean a demotion for brown...most likely they go with a platoon in right field...they would be accquiring such a bat amost as much to strengthen the bench by giving you a rh that can come in late in games and get you a hit than they would as a starter...either way dom would not be sent down

Cabrera is awful, I'd honestly rather ride the year out with Brown.  I'm also very lukewarm on Ludwick.  I think Willingham would be a good fit and I'd like Adams if he doesn't cost too much.

I brought melky up a few pages back. Dudes on pace for a 100/20/100 year, or at least close to it. He's still young too, just might be a late bloomer

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I certainly think that they could use a right-handed OF to platoon with Brown/Ibanez.

Hell no on Beltran. Great player in his prime (which he's not any more) and when healthy (which he never is any more). Not worth it to see decent prospects flourish with the Mets in a few years.

he probably is the best player on the market but i still wouldnt assume that beltran commands top notch stud prospects...the fact thats hes a two month rental will diminish his value

also the phillies dont have any great prospects....thats not to say the best prospects they do have wont turn into gems but right now theres no dom brown that you would be scared to lose

Even if the best prospects in the organization are still not GREAT prospects, their value to the Phillies is greater because of their relative value to other prospects in the system.

But still, can't see the Mets giving the Phils a good deal on Beltran, and that's fine with me. Probably the main thing that will stop Amaro from pulling that trigger.

this just isnt true

each prospect is taken on his own face value...a C+ prospect is not a B+ prospect because hes the best prospect in your system...if you dont think he projects to being a major league player than thats all that matters...it doesnt matter than the has a 10% more chance at making the show than other guys in your system

i do agree with your second point in relation to the phils...i think they will have to give substantially more than any other team in the league to get him...if the mets would even trade him to the phils at any price

in general tho i dont think he commands as much as people think...so maybe the phils have to pay more than anyone else but still give up an acceptable amount

Either way, probably better off letting someone else trade for him and going and getting someone cheaper is best.

of the people that are apparently available i want ty wiggington first because he can also play third and would be nice insurance for polancos back

have fun watching dom stumble and bumble away game six of the nlcs because he let a ball get by him that went to the right field wall allowing the go ahead runs to score

i hate frenchy but hes exactly what they need

thing is he didnt want to sign here in the offseason...he wanted slightly more money to lose in kansas city. maybe hes not the kind of guy who wants it, and all you need to do is look at jason bay to see how well that goes.
