Probably has something to do with the fact that the Cubs have been able to hit the pen in this series.

Strike outs with runners on 3rd and less than two outs are infuriating.

Leaving the bases loaded in back to back innings too.

I don't know how specific baseball statistics get but I'm willing to bet the Phillies are the worst team (or close to being the worst) in the league at getting runners home from 2nd or 3rd with 0 or 1 out over the last 5 seasons.

back to back terrible at bats by ibanez and chooch in those spots

but lots of LOBs is what you get from a singles hitting team with limited power and speed.
