Hell of a play by Polanco.

Also, Worley got squeezed a bit in that inning.

If it was 1996...

Yeah they're getting a ton of money off the books next year and the only guy they really need to resign is JRoll, no?

But I'm pretty sure Jroll, Raul, and Lidge all come off the books next year. Lee gets a 12Mil raise, use the rest of the money to resign JRoll and keep Roy O another year. Then spend the spare change on bench players and such.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QB Eagles

Raul's 5 for 7 this series with a homer, Valdez just got a RBI instead of hitting into a DP with the bases loaded... what's going on here?

MDS

i thought the nationals were supposed to win this series.

wha ha happen?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

has nothing to do with being cheap...they just arent going to pay a #4 pitcher 16 million when they can buy him out for one and use that money elsewhere...need to extend cole...get a SS at least one corner outfielder (two if HOF brown doesnt pan out)...resign/replace madson...get a closer...plus that 15 million can also create room to take salary on in a trade

There's a pitcher coming up who'll be ready in two years anyway.  They absolutely 100% have to re-sign Cole.  He's the future of this franchise, not Rollins, Utley or even Choke.

No doubt that Hamels is priority #1.  Not sure they definitely jettison Oswalt to do it (unless there is more about the back issues than we know).

Nitpicky, but Lee goes up $10.5M next year (11M to 21.5M).

Rollins is going to have to earn a new contract.  I'd say the chances of a re-sign are at best 50/50.  The Phils have to start getting younger.

Munson

Can they afford to lose his bat and, more importantly, the clubhouse leadership though? And who do they plug in there? I like valdez as the 5th infielder for injuries but not the every day guy at SS.
