So if Worley ends up going 15-1 or 14-2 that doesn't warrant consideration?

Munson

Like I said, he will and should get a few votes. But Kimbrel is averaging over 1.5 K's per inning. That's a ridiculous (and historic, if I'm not mistaken) rate.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Define "consideration." Is it a brief pause before pulling the lever for Kimbrel?

to old people, yes

wins and losses are irrelevant
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

But even he agrees Kimbrel will win. So... What are you getting at again?

Evidently professional baseball writers disagree with you.

Read this.

last year king won the cy young with like 12 wins or something

granted he got a bit of a free pass since his team was so horrendous, but 10 years ago old heads see a .500 record and thats the end of it.

there he is

no one is saying wins are bad, just irrelevant

is there a reason why ian kennedy has more wins than halladay or lee? has he really pitched better...or just gotten some timely run support?

i cant seriously have a discussion with someone who says the most important stat in all of sports is irrelevant

the cy young is a combo of many stats but to says wins are irrelevant is even drastic for a seamhead

its not drastic and weve had this discussion before. its a pretty pointless and arbitrarily random stat.

and i suppose i must gently remind you im not a seamhead and couldnt even tell you what era+ is or how to find out what someones babip is.

It would seem to me to be pretty easy to see what babip is.  Just subtract the number of strikeouts from the total at-bats before doing the division. Unless they don't count foul-outs either.

i meant know where to find it

what nerd sites have it? i dont venture there. those people like calculators, not sports.

I never once said Kimbrel shouldn't win.  He's clearly the favorite.  What I've said repeatedly is Worley deserves serious consideration.  Whether that's a second place vote or a third place vote I don't know.

Suggesting his season has been the result of luck or run support is flat-out stupid, though.    ERA, K's, WHIP are all among league leaders especially for rookies.

Whatever, though.  Arguing with someone who clearly can't even bother to take five seconds to research basic stats is pointless.
