That hit from Pence went a lot further than I thought it would off the bat.

I guess I'm the last person alive who knew that Dontrelle Willis was still a starting pitcher in the bigs.

i figured he might still be pitching somewhere.. i honestly had no clue that it was for the reds though.  seeing him pop up as the pitcher tonight was boner inducing until i realized the phils will make it look like he's back on the marlins. (lol at pence ripping one as i type this)

not when hes talked all year about how he loves being in the national league because he can hit now and that hes an athlete...not saying he has to bust it down the line 1000%...shtein no player should be expected to do that everytime but to stay in the batters box and then literally wave your hand at the play and say farg it im going back to the dugout?

no one should get a pass on that

when you give up 2 ER's in 36 consecutive innings is pretty much the only time you get a pass on that.  i'm hardly defending not hustling but it looked like he got it in on the hands which doesn't feel too good, so as a pitcher i'm not going to crucify him.  if it was joe blanton.. then i hope he gets sniped with plague arrows.

i could care less who hustles or who doesnt...i treat everyone the same and am not mad at all with lee for that play...im pointing out the unbelievable double standard amongst much of the fanbase....jimmy rollins was getting called lazy the year after he won the mvp and that was for not running hard enough....lee farging didnt run at all and literally waved his hand and said farg it....choke is the best run producer in the history of the franchise and is always said to be not a hard worker cause of his defense and strikeouts...if either of them had done it they would have gotten blasted beyond belief

that's their job.  his job is to pitch.  no one is going to care what cliff lee's hitting stats are at the end of the year.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

the problem with Howard is there are two extremes with him.  people criticize him unfairly, and then others go too far in his support.  People who say he doesn't work are farging dumb.  He obviously works and he's gotten to be a pretty good defender (when you don't make him throw the ball).  On the other side, people who say they don't care that he can't hit/hasn't learned how to hit left handed pitching and walks far less than he should (yes getting on base is important in baseball) just because he drives in runs are dumb as well.  People should be able to note that he makes more money than he should without blaming him for making that much.  Should be able to appreciate him for what he is without claiming he should win the MVP every year because he has a lot of RBIs or that he sucks because of the things that he doesn't do well.

Let's hope his September blows so that he's on track for an untouchable October.

What's that pitch from lee that's always in the 83-84 range...is that a slider or a change?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Munson

Clifford is pissed. A guy who never shows emotion scowling and shaking his head like that
