they didnt block him....he was free to take any job he wanted...what might have pissed them off was that he was going around entertaining these jobs instead of scouting for the team and ended up not taking any of them...so by that time he was already out in their minds

Like most here I'm fairly shocked they got him away from the Niners.    Great hire, though. 

And regarding Harry Gamble, if not for Braman being such a complete cockface his Dad might have gone down as one of the best GM's in the business.  Think of all the guys they drafted or signed with him at the helm and that was with a weaselly cheap ass owner spitting out nickels & dimes.

it doesnt guarantee anything obviously...but you cant underestimate how much this brightens the immediate future of the franchise....and what emotion is more powerful than hope....i feel 1000 times better about the eagles right now than i did 24 hrs ago and it feels wonderful
