Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Daily News reports the Eagles are expected to keep OL Allen Barbre.

Barbre was reportedly given permission to seek a trade, but he apparently did not find any quality offers. While he may lose his starting job at left guard to sophomore Issac Seumalo, Barbre is a quality, versatile swing lineman who is only owed $2.1 million in 2017. The 32-year-old will be a free agent next spring.

I'm told, as of now, WR Alshon Jeffery is leaning towards choosing the #Eagles when free agency starts.

I farging hate Twitter and 24 hr sports news so much, but especially in the beginning stages of NFL free agency.  I seriously miss just going about my day and literally not knowing or even caring about who the Eagles were talking to or interested in or what player just landed at PHL - and if something happens, learning about it during the evening news cycle or first thing in the morning.

I could just turn all my electronics off, but how the hell am I supposed to watch my pr0n?

i agree its farging infuriating when someone tweets "im told" or so and so is "leaning" or "eagles colts browns 49ers interested in" _______

people just gotta put shtein out there they could care less if it has a 1% chance of happening...just want page clicks and rewteets

Eagles signed WR Alshon Jeffery, formerly of the Bears, to a one-year, $14 million.

1 year?  If they weren't going to go for something long term with him, they'd have definitely been better off going for Marshall.

Sgt PSN

On the plus side, this improves the value of signing Smith.  Jeffery/Smith/Matthews ain't too shabby looking.  Still not crazy about the 1 year though.

i like the one year deal for a player who is an injury risk

I agree.  But I think that spending $14mil on a 1 year deal for a player with injury issues is kind of dumb in comparison to, say Brandon Marshall getting 2 years/11mil.

My whole thing with going for Marshall was that he was an ideal player if they weren't targeting a FA for a long term deal.  Not planning on getting too attached to Jeffery.  If he stays healthy and balls like he's capable of, he'll be playing elsewhere next year.

marshall is 33 and would have no future on this team...alshon can be a game changing #1 for another four five years

i dont think the two are comparable...in theory if they had the money you can argue they both could be signed...the stud 1 and the aging veteran
