WR numbers haven't inflated nearly as much as QB numbers have. We've got from one 100+ catch receiver in 1984 to potentially 8 this year, which is still silly but not as silly as QBs where nearly half the starters are making Marino's stats look normal.

Maclin would still be a couple of team's third best player, but hey. 8th in yards, 12th in catches, tied for 10th in TDs. I'll take that from a starter.

The man. The myth. The legend.

FWIW most of the mocks have Winston going #2 to Tennessee, and I don't see him falling past the Jets at #4
There's no way the Jets go QB. None. They have a million holes and have tried the rookie QB thing time and time again. They'll all be a failure until they fix the team.

wr numbers are up the difference is there are way more 3 and 4 wr sets now....more pass catching te's...more pass catching rb's....so it spreads the numbers out...you cant have bloated qb numbers and the same pass catching numbers....the balls have to go somewhere...the thing with the eagles is that their 3 and 4 wr sets contain terrible wr's so the best one stands out much more so

You would think that would leave better coverage on Maclin, then.

The man. The myth. The legend.

normally that would be true but mack gets moved around and while he is a good wr hes not good enough for the other team to game plan and make sure their best corner follows him around...the eagles don't pose a huge threat anywhere outside so teams put their left corner on the left side and their right corner on their right side and go straight up aginst them....

that being said he did abuse patrick peterson this year...at the same time I think he had like five games with under 50 yards receiving...he seemed to be boom if the chipper system was churning and bust if it wasnt....in other words hes not gonna get his man one on one very often and hes not gonna get himself free.....he needs to be gotten open and if he is hes gonna catch it.....dook does not drop balls...the guy would be an insane slot receiver...imo on par with a wes welker in his prime were he to man that spot exclusively

QuoteGo through the list of standout Eagles who were drafted by the team, made a couple Pro Bowls and played at least eight seasons. You'd be hard-pressed to find more than a few who managed to spend their entire careers in Philly.

White couldn't wait to leave when the Eagles refused to pay him. Dawkins bolted for Denver when the Eagles low-balled him. McNabb landed in Washington via an Easter day trade and bottomed out in Minnesota.

Brian Westbrook's last games came with the 49ers, Tra Thomas with the Jags. Eric Allen fled to New Orleans and then Oakland. Seth Joyner, Clyde Simmons and Andre Waters followed Buddy Ryan to Arizona and finished their careers elsewhere. Harold Carmichael played the last two games of his career with rival Dallas.

Pretty much all WR's are boom or bust, outside of Antonio Brown.

D. Thomas-3 games with under 50 yards, 2 others with 60 and change
Maclin-4 Games under 50 yards
Hilton-3 Games
Tate-4 Games
Dez-3 Games
Cobb-3 Games
Hopkins-5 Games
Alshon-4 Games
Kelvin-6 Games
A.J. Green-3 games, 4 if you count Monday night's injury shortened game

And pretty much everyone on that list had multiple other games in the 50-80 yard range.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Why are Tate and Hopkins on that list?

Was going through the top 20 in receiving yards this year.

You can pretty much do it every year for the top 20 guys. There's usually one-three guys at the top that were extremely consistent, but then everyone else has 4-5 "duds" at the least a year.

D. Thomas-3 games with under 50 yards, 2 others with 60 and change  (Peyton Manning)
Maclin-4 Games under 50 yards (MARK fargING SANCHEZ AND FOLES)
Hilton-3 Games (Andrew Luck)
Tate-4 Games  (Andy Dalton)
Dez-3 Games  (Tony Romo)
Cobb-3 Games  (Aaron Rodgers)
Hopkins-5 Games (???)
Alshon-4 Games (Jay Cutler, yeah he has sucked but still better than Sanchez)
Kelvin-6 Games (Cam Newton)
A.J. Green-3 games, 4 if you count Monday night's injury shortened game (Dalton)

And pretty much everyone on that list had multiple other games in the 50-80 yard range.

...and pretty much everyone on that list had a qb that has played miles better than the two guys the Eagles had chucking the ball to Maclin. I think he's better than some think he is.

Geez can it ever be about anything other than race with your ignorant pos self? Can't you ever have a debate without some ones opinion being based on what color skin they have?

No, you can't because your a small minded want to be thug farging fool.

But no, obviously Cooper can only play for one team, and the difference in the pro bowl qb's on that list and Sanchez is far greater than having Cooper playing next to any receiver on that list. And yes Matthews is a rook but that argument holds no more water than the sieve that is your head being as he's a pretty good rookie. The problem is you can't see past Pimps balls in your farging face enough to see or admit that Maclin pretty good.

IGY logic=since there wasn't a legitimate #2 next to Maclin, he needed to put up Antonio Brown numbers, or else.

DeSean Jackson, BTW....5 games with under 50 yards. 3 of those games he was under 20.

Jackson was playing in an offense with a ridiculous Shady, a top 3 offensive line, and Nick Foles actually hitting his passes...and with nothing but KKKooper and slop behind him. Maclin is putting up the exact same numbers more or less, but with a worse offensive line, much worse QB play, and a slightly diminished Shady. In fact, Maclin right now has exactly the same amount of catches, one more TD, and only 63 yards less than Jackson finished up with last year.

Everyone knows DeSean was a great playmaker, and they shouldn't have let him go. But IGY's gotta set up strawmen to knock down because he's a moron. No one's saying the team wouldn't be better with Jackson AND Maclin...but the problem isn't that they replaced Jackson with Maclin. The problem is they didn't replace Cooper, and saw regression in the offensive line and QB play this year.
