Johnson is all but confirmed. They want continuity on offense and Johnson is their best chance at achieving that. With defense I don't think they feel locked into any particular philosophy, they just want a brain.

Good point. Sometimes coming out with a second half lead and going bend but don't break doesn't work, like probably against the best QB and best offense in the league. Best remove bend and shatter strategies from the play books now that Gannon is gone.

Especially if TJ and Kyzir are gone and they have that weird edge group separate from the LBs and DL, not to mention that no high draft pick is going to a LB.
