I agree if they get a suitable offer they should consider it.  But the thing is what is suitable?   I mean no one is going to offer up more than a 4 or 5 for him and these knuckleheads aren't going to be astute enough to get a replacement for him with that.  They could use it as an added chip but in my mind he's good enough to keep for now.  I'd really like to see him with actual weapons on the outside.

if you get rid of matthews because you want to bring in a cooks then thats fine but getting rid of a known quantity and replacing it with an unknown quantity (theoretically a draft pick) is kind of foolish especially at a position that your young qb needs to be strong

Yep.  Matthews is Wentz' baby blanket.  I think it's a mistake to pull that shtein especially since they've developed a decent rapport.  I'm not sold on Matthews at all either.  He's an average or even slightly below average guy but they literally have no one else on the roster but him right now. 

Keep him unless he's a chip to improve big time.

There's 2 types of "value" that each player has.  Market value and team value.  If the market value for a player is higher than the value he brings to your team, you move him.  If his value to your team is higher than what the market is willing to pay, you don't move him. 

Matthews is more valuable to the Eagles (Wentz) right now than what he'd bring back in a straight up trade.  Even moving him as part of a package deal to land Cooks, for example, would be kind of silly.  Cooks is good, but no other receiver on the roster is really going to get the attention of opposing DCs.  They'll double and triple Cooks all game because the other slop the Eagles would be rolling out there can't get open and/or catch.  It'd pretty much be the same problem, just a different player.

He's a tall receiver who can actually catch, so he's at least got that going for him. If you want a 29 year old receiver as your guy I'd say wait for Maclin to be cut, but anything's better than Agholor or DGB at this point.

Britt had that monster day against the Eagles in Nashville back in 2010.  Since then I've probably heard his name in the news for off field shtein more than on field accomplishments.  He did somehow manage to top 1000 yds last year though with Jeff Fisher and really terrible QBs, so.....yeah, why not?  Do it.
