i have no interest in getting into a gun debate with anyone...its boring and nothing but me becoming extremely angry can come from it

There goes someones invite.

If you're looking for a simple gun to start with, you really cant go wrong with a glock.  I'd look at either a glock 17/19.  Glocks require very little attention as far as cleaning/upkeep.  They're easy to do upgrades with, and they're fun to shoot.  Pricewise they're pretty normal.  My next one will be a Beretta 92fs, i love the slide on them, and they shoot perfectly.  Only problem its a beretta and requires maintenance

I've got a Browning Hi Power

Nice weapon.  It's got a serial number matched leather case that holds a second clip as well.

And yay though I often boast about liberals being armed too, it's my only firearm.  Don't have the money for more, nor the space.

I am interested in a getting a gun safe that I can build into my bedroom wall or something like that.

Dio, that looks like a nice weapon. The range where I am going to take lessons also has multiple tester guns so you can try before you buy. I will likely want to give it a shot (pun alert?).

SB, that's what I was leaning... Heard the 17 and 19 are so similar but with a notceable difference in recoil (less on the larger 17). I like that a 19 will accept a standard 17 mag though, so I will probably do a comparison of the two before comparing against other brands.

First handgun will likely be a 9mm semi of some sort, though.

why are americans so obsessed with guns?

i dont get it.

is your dick not big enough or something?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Maybe we can get this thread moved to the No Hippos forum.

Because they're bombarded with it on television and the 2nd Amendment says it's fine to carry firearms. In reality, the 2nd Amendment was written during a much different time than today. People actually needed firearms to protect themselves from foreign and domestic enemies. Now that we live in a society with a strong military and police force that should eliminate the need. I like guns, I like shooting them, but I think completely outlawing them would solve a lot of problems. There's not way to take every one or enforce an outlaw so that option is really not viable.

PoopyfaceMcGee

So, what you're saying is that in an ideal world, in which we certainly do not live and will never exist, guns aren't necessary? Sure. Neither are abortions. Neither are militaries or police officers. Need I go on?

Anyway, I guess I'll move the discussion on purchasing to No Hippos and let the debate rage here.
