NFL Owners Meet To Discuss Status Of Contract Negotiations

The professional football organization in Washington continues to focus on the important things.

When they aren't suing a tiny local paper, the team is ordering the Washington Post to change the name of their popular football blog.  Dan Steinberg of DC Sports Bog points out an article in the Post on Tuesday that explains why.

"The taterskins, who have been at the forefront in creating their own multimedia operations, have been aggressive in policing the use and misuse of their 'brand' by others," Paul Farhi writes.

To that end, they no longer allow local sports highlight shows on television or radio to use the team name unless its authorized.   Recently, they took that one step further.

"The taterskins recently asked the Washington Post to rename the newspaper's video webcast and blog about the team, which was called 'taterskins Insider,'" Fahri notes.  (The blog has since been retitled "Football Insider.")

After consulting with our legal team, we've determined that we will only mention the team's name from now on when quoting from other sources.

Otherwise, we will refer to the team as the Washington Indigenous Americans.  Or perhaps the Washington Free Agent Mistakes.

He really doesn't have a clue, does he?  He is by far the worst owner in all of professional sports.

Oh yeah.  I farging love it as an Eagles fan.  But I also kind of hate it too because his greedy, corporate mindset is infectious among team owners.  He's obviously not the only greedy owner out there, but I do think he's the most greedy.  Give it time, but sooner or later other owners will start telling local newspapers and media outlets to stop using their team name and they'll start charging said outlets for press passes and things of that nature.

He's a terrible owner in the sense that he makes terrible decisions and has no clue how to run a football team.  But from a business perspective, the guy is making money hand over foot and eventually other owners will want to cash in.

It's a good point. The old school owners like the Rooneys and Maras seem to genuinely care not only about the game but even the players to a degree. The newer ones are all about money and that's it. There's nothing to balance the greed.

Snyder is so terrible it's hard to believe.  His character is plain for all to see, the only thing we don't know is how he'll put it on display next, and he never disappoints.

If they fell under US jurisdiction, I believe he would.

QuoteWe passed along an article last week in Minnesota that tried to tie Donovan McNabb to the Vikings.

Many of you didn't take it seriously because the information came from Charley Walters' notes column, which tends to throw a few things against the wall to see what sticks.

Well, a more reliable source connected McNabb to Minnesota on Saturday.   ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote on Twitter Saturday he believes Donovan McNabb "would like to" play for the Vikings next year.

It's unclear if the interest is mutual.  McNabb would have made more sense while Brad Childress was around, but new offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave is expected to transition away from the team's West Coast offense.

McNabb has been a somewhat forgotten man this offseason with Kevin Kolb, Carson Palmer, and even Marc Bulger connected to more teams. But McNabb is almost certainly not going to be in Washington next year and should be available.

He could work as a "bridge" quarterback for a team like Minnesota that also selects a quarterback in the draft.

he deserves to finally catch a break, right J?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

General_Failure

I would love to see him spend the next ten years going from team to team for one year while they groom a draft pick.
