If there is such a thing as a "good" loss, this is it.  Helping the Bears get into the playoffs instead of the Packers is fine with me.  The Eagles have to beat the Giants again, the Cowboys at least once, and get one more win (possibly this Thursday against the Andre Johnson-less Texans), and the division is all but assured.

Holy shtein, is Asante a difference-maker or what?

I think beating the Bears and then losing to the Texans would have been a good loss.  It's still hard to complain with the way this team has been playing, but that game farging pissed me off.  Worst performance defensively of the year.

The defense was completely hit or miss all game, mostly miss, but the 2nd half was better than the first.  And I got quite a rush from the ridiculous Celek TD - more excited than any one play in the Giants game.  Naturally, it's better to lose to an AFC team, but seriously.... the Bears are not as good as the Packers - Eagles just laid a defensive egg.

If the Bears defense is so good, why do they have so few sacks? 19 sacks ties the Bears for 21st in the NFL. Conversely, no offensive line has allowed their QB to be sacked as often as the 37 the Bears have given up

No one thinks the Bears are that good (and you clearly have a vendetta against them probably stemming from living in the area). I just think the ebb and flow of things says the Eagles lose this game. It's not about matchups/coaching/who's better, it's about the Eagles coming off of 3 big wins, the Bears coming off a long week, and the Eagles having to travel.

I'll just quote myself here

The Eagles were going to come back to earth at some point. They had a huge win against Indy, had to play MNF against the Skins, on the road, against Mcnabb, and the Skins were coming off a bye, then play on a short week for first place against the Giants. I thought they'd beat the Giants and lose to the Bears - which they did. It's the ebb and flow of how games go. They'll beat the Texans this week then we'll see how they do after that. In the grand scheme of things this loss means nothing.

I didn't realize how important Asante is on that defense.  I think he would have probably had an interception or two yesterday with the way Cutler throws.

People who are scared to be hit should definitely play professional football.

Look I'm not suggesting that he lower his shoulder and take on LBs to show much of a man he is. I'm talking about not diving on the ground when he's got five yards or more to gain by simply taking a run-of-the-mill NFL hit. How many touches a game does he even get? 10 at the most? it's not like he's getting pounded play after play. You're a football player. Take a hit.

you guys are arguing over him getting down? argue over the real issue right now...him alligator arming passes--in the end zone no less.

hey I dont care how small you are, if youre the pimp mack daddy of all nfl receivers or whatever....you keep short arming passes--esp in the end zone and making others look bad.... you fall in a bad category of receivers real quick. Im sure/hope it was a one game thing, but if it happens again..let the roasting begin by the media.

I completely agree.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I can understand the alligator arms a little after two concussions in two years, but he has now dropped two passes that would have been huge plays the last two weeks.

Overall Jackson has been too inconsistent this season, he needs to start stepping up.

see thats the problem...you never get a free pass for alligator arming in the nfl.

if there is a top 5 ranking of things you dont do as as a nfl receiver...that is prob #1.

By the way it's farging awesome that Vick is not afraid to get right in Pimp's face and tell him he expects more.

I love the way he is taking over this team.  He had a mediocre game yesterday overall - the INT was huge and the fumbles were plentiful but lucky - but I really feel if it were Donnie Mac under center, he would have mailed it in much sooner.  Throwing worm burners and flashing cheesy grins down 3+ scores.

Drunkmasterflex

I am not giving him a free pass.....just saying that I understand why he would be a little gun shy.

And I agree with FF it is pretty sweet to see a guy in there that actually has some real leadership qualities.

The defense has been inconsistent all year. There were a few games where opposing teams have gashed us up pretty bad on the ground. Chicago did a great job of running of set up the play action. They schooled us really. Bad tackling didn't help either. It was pretty infuriating watching Cutler pass and run at ease and act all cocky about it like he's something special.

Vick def looked like a diff QB, but then again most QB's under that much pressure dn't do nearly that well. The tipped INT was luck, but Maclin was basically triple teamed anyway which makes me wonder why he even attempted that. Then again he hits Celek with the most perfect throw in triple coverage later in the game. Either way they both were very risky passes and we've know seen he is human.

Djack on the other hand, he's def not what he says he is. He's shown flashes on greatness this year, but for the most part looks timid. Punt returns or receiving, he's just not taking risks and its hurting his play. Look some might argue he's not fighting for extra yards, but his #1 priority as a receiver is catching the damn ball. I dn't care if he doesn't fight for the yards, I care when he bitches out in the end zone. He has to man the farg up and take it, otherwise everyone will be gunning for him because they know in the back of his mind he's soft. I am glad Avant stepped up his game and made some sick catches yesterday, he made up for the drop. Desean hasn't.
