Just what? I admit he's a great defensive player. If you're going to throw stats out there as to why he's a better player than Thad then look at the stats I posted and admit he's not as good. The numbers don't lie. What else is there? Iguodala is horrible down the stretch, that isn't opinion it's fact. I'm not even factoring in his late game misses from the charity stripe. Who knows how well Thad would do in the clutch because he never gets the chance like Iguodala does and he's not and will never be a point forward. I mean if Iguodala is going to man that position late in games he needs to learn to look for the open guy rather than running sideways and taking awkward jumpers.

what else is there...for real?

watch thads game...dont look at meaningless per minute a game stats

theres a reason iguodala plays ten minutes more a game than thad

hopefully iguodala goes this summer and thad starts getting 35-40 minutes as a starting 3 in this league so we can put this nonsense to bed....you cannot start in this league at the 3 and not be able to dribble...and lets see him defend starting players on other teams as well for long minutes

thad is a really nice energy bench player who puts up good numbers but hes very limited and its a whole different animal starting in this league...all im saying is be careful what you wish for

Thad can dribble fine. Can he bring it up the floor and play the point forward position like Iguodala can? No. I'd rather Jrue play the point or even Turner with Thad doing things that a 3 is supposed to do - you even admitted it yourself that Iguodala shouldn't be bringing the ball up the court and that it was Collins fault so I don't see how that is an issue.

And I'll take the minor defensive deficiency considering Thad has a better shot selection, has a higher field goal %, and is a better rebounder. Tell me something, what are better attributes of a 3, a guy who can bring it up the floor and dish the ball around, or a guy who has a high field goal % and can rebound?

a guy that can dribble shoot and pass

thad has no game outside of six feet...he has some nice finishing skills near the rim cause hes long but thats not what a three does in the nba...a three handles shoots and has to defend other threes...none of which thad can do...he has a fours game but a threes body

his fg % numbers are worthless when talking about him playing the three because all his shots are massive high % ones around the rim

thads minutes are limited in this league because hes a classic tweener...he cant be a full time 3 and he cant be a full time 4 so hes stuck where he is which is a really good bench guy who can exploit some mismatches here and there but isnt suited to run 40 minutes in the league

i think what you may be doing is making a direct correlation bwtn iguodala not being a good enough player and thad being better than he is....just because you think iguodala stinks doesnt mean thad can play the three full time and be successful

the two are mutually exclusive....you can think iguodala sucks and you want him gone and at the sdame time not think its a good idea to replace him with thad

I disagree with almost everything you said and now I think you hate Thad like I hate Iggy.

i actually love thad and dislike (not hate) iguodala

but i have to call them like i see them and criticize people i like as well as credit people i dont like....otherwise whats the point

The only problem I have with Iguodala is him at the end of games, which has been absolutely beaten to death. He's the best player on the team. I love Thad and the role he's in now is perfect for him. If he started at the 3 and got 40 minutes a game, I doubt he'd be just as good over the full game. Iguodala sees so much more of the floor and is a hell of a lot better passer. There's a lot more options with Iggy. He can bring up the ball every now and then because he can pass so well but it shouldn't be all the time. Especially at the end of games, because since he has the ball he's gonna jack up the (most likely terrible) shot. The team needs a closer badly. Won't be either one of them.

This was probably the most frustrating game I've watchedi n a long time.  However, the Iguodala hate is ridiculous.  Yes, he does suck at the end of games and makes the most boneheaded plays... however, he's still the best player on the court and plays lockdown defense on the opponent's best player.  Thad Young has horrible handle so he is not the answer in the 4th like sd suggested.  Honestly, they should stick with the hot hand in the 4th quarter and last night it was Lou.

SunMo

yeah he locked Durant down to a tune of 35 points

locked down
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Please watch basketball game rather than relying on box scores.  Just like earlier in the thread someone was complaining about Iggy giving up the four point play.  IGY's right when he says that 95 percent of this board doesn't watch the NBA or the Sixers.  Iggy is one of premier defenders in the league, and has consistently locked down his assignment night in and night out.  Kevin Durant is also the most prolific scorer in the NBA...

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

DH
