Holliday to Brand is the new Stockton to Malone

In all seriousness Brand looks like the player they envisioned when they signed him. The encouraging thing about that is the possibility a team takes him off the Sixers hands.

in fairness to him he shouldnt be responsible for guarding the front of a basketball rim in the nba but because he is he gives up almost as many pts as he scores...especially late in games when the other team is attacking the basket

last night was simply example A of why you need a star in the nba...when the thunder needed pts down the stretch durant got it for them...while the sixers were relying on jodie meeks (not that he didnt step up but the difference sledgehammers you in the face)

I personally didn't think the Sixers had a shot at that game....but then I realized how bad of defense the Thunder has.

When Nocioni is getting clear lanes to the hoop it's time to re-group. The Sixers are so sporadic on defense that there are times when you are like damn..ok...then others you can't even believe these guys practice every day. One of the big killers on this team is not even the turnovers but the transition d.They fix that they might be able to sustain a lead and win more.

And Turner just holding the ball at the top of the key with clock dwindling down is ass backwards. Dribble the friggin ball and show some balls.

MDS

obviously i havent been watching as i dont have the package but is brand really looking that good? good enough that someone may be stupid enough to take him off our hands?

cause the trade rumors are swirling for iguodala...and getting rid of those 2 would give me a boner that size of igys bank account.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

If Brand continues doing what he's been doing yeah I think there's a chance.

great trip

they might win against Toronto though

Over these past games there is one other person that stands out to me aside from Lou Williams this year..Thadeus Young.

I know he's in a contract year, but damn dude can finish around the basket. I'd like to see more of him and less of Iguodala at this point. In years past, I always wanted to keep Iggy... but Im on board now for shipping him out. Not to mention, he doesnt want to be here anyway.

SD

I've been on the play Thad trade Iggy train for 3 years.

Welcome aboard

Oh I know you have, but I completely disagreed with you for 3 years.

I shunned at the fact of trading a guy that has all the talent in the world that can fill up stat sheet like he can, but it's clear to me more so than ever this year that he just doesn't fit in with this particular group of players.

thads a nice guy to have off the bench but he should never ever start in this league...every few weeks youll get some nice output from him but the second the other team pays him any attention he disappears

he has the terrible combination of having a terrible handle (its so incredibly awkward) and no back to the basket game

because hes so long when he somehow can get near the rim hes an ok finisher but he is just so easy to defend for a guy his size

and hes an average at best defender

i have no problem getting rid of iguodala but he will always be a more valuable player than thad and dont think that on a good team thad is going to be anything more than a bench contributor

My point is it was 12 minutes too long.

alright so im running through this box score, a few things stand out (besides how awful they are)

1. andres nocioni fouled out in 30 minutes. 30 minutes! thats it! how is that possible when you dont even try to play defense?
2. spencer hawes took one less shot (7) than evan turner (8) and he played 12 minutes to turner's 43. what. the. farg. is. that.
3. tony battie got a 17 minute run off the bench. why? what could this possibly accomplish. hes older than rome and taking time away from someone who at one point was good in mo speights. i dont understand this franchises fixation on washed up veterans that bring nothing to the table besides dominating rookies at cards on the team plane.
4. lou williams: 12 minutes, 0-7 from the field, 0 points. does doug collins hate him?
5. elton brand with a 27 and 8...even against the raptors this is good. 1 more year of this and he becomes tradeable.
6. iguodala has fully gone into tank mode until he gets traded. got to hand it to him, he could have done this 2 years ago and didnt. i guess his play in the worlds changed his mind. good for him.
7. a combined 55 points from sonny weems and andrea bargnani. whats the point in even trying to make a joke about that?

can someone tell me what exactly im supposed to look forward to with this team? theyre playing hard? theyre young? jeru? what is there?

Another lottery pick. I root for them to win, but in the back of my mind I'm always a little happy they lost because they'll get a better pick.

1. youve never seen nocioni play if you dont think he plays defense...and hes like the nba's version of dale hunter
2. turner is timid as hell...if he had half the confidence of john wall hed be a much better player....hopefully experience will cure this
3. battie is their only physical inside presence...hes all they got and when hes not in the game their interior defense is laughably bad
4. while nowhere near eddie jordan collins roation decisions are at best questionable...that said 0-7 is generally gonna get lou on the bench...if he isnt scoring then he shouldnt be playing
5. say what you want about elton brand but with more cake than a lil fat kid and playing in front of 5k every night for the worst team in the league could easily have him giving up or taking nights off....he never does
6. see above and reverse it
7. sixers give up i think 105 a game....me and you would get ours against them
