This season I'm going to track and laugh at how overrated this joke of a team is going to be. I'm going to bet against them regularly starting with the Sixers and I'm going to rake in money. I'm also going to brag about how right I am when this loser team ends up sucking and barely finishes above .500. Although I will root for them against Boston tomorrow, but this team will get killed by the Sixers and are just generally going to suck this year. Also, I encourage anyone who actually thinks they are going to be good to hype them up. It will make it that much sweeter when I'm right about these frauds.

42-40.

I really don't understand how you could consider this an "overwhelming success."  You might have made some nice coin betting on/against them, but it really didn't take a genius to know that the betting lines on them would be favorable, not to mention that anyone with even pedestrian knowledge of the game knew going into the season that the Heat lacked a big man, bench depth and that Lebron and Wade are too similar to really play off each other.  Not to mention that anytime you make the kinds of changes that the Heat did over the summer, it's going to take some time to gel and in the process, they'll drop games they shouldn't and they'll fail to cover a lot too.

But your thread title says that the Heat are going to "suck", which they don't.  Your record prediction was 42-40 and here they are with 9 games left and sitting at 51-22, so even finishing the year 4-5 will still give them 55 wins.  Are they winning the finals?  Probably not.  But I'd take the field against them (or pretty much any other team) every time, so it's not like you're making some bold predictions there either.

Truth is, other than stating in the beginning of the year that the Heat will be a good money maker, you've been dead wrong on pretty much every other "prediction" you've made.  But hey, congrats on the new tv.  Put it in your bedroom for style points.

They do suck though. Also 42-40 is pretty much the same thing as what they are now if you factor in wins to team strength ratio.

Plus true NBA fans don't use records to evaluate how good anyone is. You use the eye test. Otherwise there would be no betting lines and no such things as upsets. People who really REALLY know the game can look at a team and see their flaws and call them out on it. Like I did.

When the Heat go down early I think I'm going to call myself The BIGWIN or The BIGSTUD from now on. I'll decide from now until then.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Lebron decided not to take the floor during the lineup intro.  As awesome as this guy is and as much fun as he is to watch, his act is old and tired.  If this guy would focus on the game as much as he focuses on his attention whoring, he'd be completely unstoppable.  Instead, he drops a triple double in a loss to the worst team in the league.

ice grillin you

he already is unstoppable

and the cavs have beaten the lakers and celtics at home and no player on either of those teams did anything near what lebron did last night....in fact im not sure if kobe and pierce combined had lebrons numbers last night

i dont like the guy either but you reachin dook

I used to like him.  For his first few years, it seemed he would do the impossible and keep his head on straight.

Instead, he's become a joke.

Sure, he's great...but he ain't won nothing yet and he's acting like a complete ass.  That can be forgiven in his rarified world, but only with a championship or three.

LOL @ Cole changing his name to "The Big Stud."

ice grillin you

how many are they going to win if they actually get one this year

a year that was supposed to be used to learn how to play together and a year in which the supporting cast wouldnt be good enough to win

If the Heat make the finals I almost hope that King Cole/The Big Stud welches on his $50 bet with me, which is a virtual lock by the way, just so he never shows his face here again.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

My prediction was 4.

The problem I'm looking at now, even they do win it this year, might be with Wade. He had a great season again, but you can see the first step starting to diminish. A complete stud finishing around the basket and second chance put-backs, but somethings not right--and hes healthy too.

He has the Brian Westbrook feel to him-- like every time he gets the ball, drives and goes to floor--hes not getting back up.

your only hope is that youd think out of the thousands of dollars he won on the heat during their awful regular season that hed be able to give you a measly 50 bucks out of that
