Probably because the movie thread (Dec 9, 2004) had already been in existence for over a year when you started the Miller's Crossing thread (Jan 26, 2006).

It was as random of a musing as there's ever been on this board, which you (ironically) started a thread for just a few months later.

I believe every bit of it. I think the owning of the Eagles by the Colts in recent years has made people terrified of anything having to do with the Colts. The Colts this season are not as good as they were last season or in recent years. They are riddled with injuries, their defense is a joke, and Manning has shown signs this season of actually being human.

If the Eagles beat the Falcons by double digits they can beat the Colts by double digits. Plus it is just a great spot. The Colts are not invulnerable to getting thumped in a game.

I won't say I disagree with the logic. Everything you've said about the Colts is true. But you left out one minor detail. Manning is about 1000x smarter that Reid, Marty and McDermott combined.  The Colts won't win because they have owned the Eagles in recent years or because they have far superior players. They'll win because the Eagles are a mediocre team that lacks solid fundamentals and intelligence.

The Colts could win the game, I didn't pick it as a lock or anything. Any time you play a very good team, that team obviously has a chance of winning the game. I just think the spot for the Eagles points to big win. I wouldn't be shocked if the Eagles beat the Colts by double digits and then throw up another stinker against McGut and the taterskins so we'll have to hear about McNabb's revenge all season.

Also, you are right that Manning is way smarter than Reid and Co. but he's also smarter than the Jack Del Rio, and the Jags beat the Colts. Any other scenario than this one and I think the Colts probably win, but this is the best chance this team has of beating the Colts. If you can't do it this season, then it ain't happening.

Yes, this is thier best chance at beating the Colts. I still don't see it happening. He'll, given the outcome of recent games with them, I'll be happy if the Eagles lose by less than 10.

Uh... no. I think the Eagles will win by double digits, but the Colts are a very good team and it most certainly is no lock.

This is the same thing that was said about the Colts last week before they destroyed Houston. Don't forget, this is an Eagles team that got torched by previously unkown Kenny Britt and Kerry Collins.

I did know he was a first round pick, the only other thing I knew was that he had three td's all of last year, and matched that total in one game against the Eagles with Kerry friggen' Collins at qb. The point being that the Eagles defense sucks.
