I was at game 6 of the 80 WS.  I was 4 so I really didn't comprehend the magnitude of what I was seeing.  My grandfather was a team sponsor or some ish like that so he had one of those suites that sat just under the 500 level.  I don't really remember much from the game, but I do remember my dad and grandfather pointing down to Steve Carlton and telling me who he was.  I also remember eating a couple of meatball sammiches, drinking all orange soda I wanted and the madness that ensued after McGraw got the final out.

So I guess being at a WS clinching game for the Phils is both cool and rare.

That's pretty much it for the rare stuff.  Most of the games I've been to haven't had any rare, notable or extraordinary events take place.  But I have seen a few cool things:

- Was at the MNF clobbering of Dallas back in 92.
- @ SF in 2006 when Mike Patterson returned a fumble 98 yds for a TD.  (Reggie Brown also had 100+ rec yds that game which could also be considered rare)
- @ Was in 06 when Mike Lewis returned an int 80some yds for a TD.  Not sure how the Eagles won that game because Betts ran for like 175 yds.  It was also the first game I had the pleasure of sitting with IGY and SunMo which made me the real winner that day.
- First Grand Slam (first HR of any kind) I ever saw was in my 2nd Little League game.  I was 7 and standing on 2nd base.  This kid comes up and launches one over the LF fence.  I just stood there and watched it and then kept watching as the left fielder was trying to climb over the fence to get the ball.  Next thing I know, the kid who was on 1st base is pushing me and I hear the coach yelling at me to start running.
- First Grand Slam I saw in a ML game was in 02 I think......Pat Burrell hit one against the Giants.
- @ KC in 2005 for the 17pt comeback, which was the biggest lead the Chiefs had ever surrendered at Arrowhead.

hahahaha, I remember jumping up and down on the Lewis pick and tripping over a beer bottle laying on the ground and busting my ass.  Good times.

yea, i was listening on the radio on the way to the airport and felt a huge weight of my shoulders when longo broke it up in the 9th. would never have been able to forgive myself.

If it's any consolation we wouldn't have forgiven you either.  We would have mocked you until you cried.

Wilbert

Not game related, but this could be classified as a sport happening.

My first vivid memory of Philly sports was the kiteman debacle. I was around 5 or 6 years old. Kiteman was supposed to glide down to the field and deliver the opening pitch, but the hack couldnt even get down the runway, and he crashed in the 600 level. I vaguely remember that game, think it was against the Cards.

Googled up a pic of it. And yes the bum was rightfully booed bigtime for that shtein.

I was at Franklin Field when Santa was boo'd
