Seems like the Eagles have a lot going for them except for a solid oline. But how important could that REALLY be for a first year starting QB? Oh.

in fact i cant recall the last time a rookie de had a good camp for the eagles where as there seems to be a standout safety almost every year and i put this on the fact that like i mentioned its easier to look good at that position

Speaking of safety, Demps is done.

you mean as a starter?

cause i think he makes the team

Do they usually keep 4 safeties? I'm drawing a blank. If they only keep 3 I see him getting stuffed on the practice squad with Kurt Coleman making the team. Macho Harris makes it as a flex guy that can fill in at either CB or FS.

he isnt eligible for the ps.....coleman would go there as theres no way he makes the team over demps

and yes four safties

i dont see anyway he doesnt make the team...question is can he beat the rook out for the starting job

There's zero chance Demps beats Allen out...zero. Coleman is going to make the team as Mikell's backup. The real question is do they keep Macho over Demps

ice grillin you

totally disagree...coleman is not going to be one injury away from being an nfl starter this year...that would be a catastrophe...he should just be happy to make the team

why not? Most teams backup safeties are young guys like Coleman. Guys that might never start in the league but are young and cheap enough to fill in for an injury.

Everything I've read about Coleman has been that he's all over the place and good in the box, although small. Granted, he's not going to be a starter, but if Allen or Mikell goes down it's a disaster. Could say that about a lot of the positions. Demps hasn't shown he's taken the step he needed to. If he is what he was last year, it's very likely he doesn't make it.

What does the CB depth chart looks like?

Samuel, Hobbs, Dong, Lindley and then what? Harris? I mean, couldn't the team just keep 9 DBs with Harris as the swing player? I like that idea because it will end this awful conversation.

how many teams have a seventh round rookie at back up saftey?

shtein how many teams have seventh round rookies back up at any position

theres just no way the eagles go into the season a quinton mikell injury away from their safties being  nate allen and macho harris or nate allen and kurt coleman....in fact even with demps i wouldnt be surprised if they sign a veteran safety before the season starts

everyone has serious questions as to whether coleman can ever play in the nfl much less be a back up this year...theres more of a chance hes a first cut guy than he makes the two deep

with the possible exception of jason peters going down i cant think of one position that would be in as much trouble as safety if kurt coleman or macho harris was starting alongside a rookie

linebacker doesnt have a lot of depth but its also a position you can hide and its mistakes arent glorified like they are at safety or tackle

DeSean and Maclin in receivers' quarrel
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin got into a brief argument late into the morning practice and spent the remainder of the practice and the walk off the field in an animated conversation.

"It's training camp. There's no bad vibe between us two," Maclin said. "We talked something out and that's all it was. I don't hate him, he doesn't hate me. We're still good. We're still friends. There was a little mix up and it's all good now."

Maclin wouldn't explain what brought about the spat, although it took place after a 7-on-7 drill. The two Eagles wide receivers walked off the field together and as they got closer to a gaggle of reporters, Maclin could be heard saying, "We're still cool."

They then proceeded to the autograph line where each signed for a number of fans.

"It was nothing major," Maclin said. "Like I said, it was over and done with. Like I said, 'We're still cool.'"

Jackson hasn't been talking to the media since he arrived at training camp.

As great as it is for the Eagles to have so many talented offensive skill players, there are always potential drawbacks. One of the concerns could be pass distribution.

As Maclin was asked about the quarrel, Jackson emerged from the locker room. Maclin was kiddingly asked by a reporter if the argument was about who was the bigger star.

"None of that," Maclin said.

The Eagles' two star receivers then walked separately to their cars -- Jackson's black Porsche and Maclin's white Range Rover -- and sped off.

how pathetic is mclain trying to blow this up by syaing there might not be enough balls to go around...as if they would be arguing about that in 7 on 7's...if anything in this humidity they probably dont want the ball...not to mention hes acting like they havent played together before...they basically have the same weapons on offense this year as last

i also wasnt aware that they are the ones who distribute the ball
