Think they're not serious about Kolb throwing it 500 times?  Check this out:

QuoteCan Kolb Throw For 4,000 Yards In 2010?

June 27, 2010 | Last Updated: 6/27/10 7:19 PM ET | Comments (13)

Once upon a time, if a quarterback threw for more than 4,000 yards in a season it was considered a truly remarkable achievement. Well, this past season a record 10 quarterbacks surpassed the 4,000-yard plateau. Two seasons ago, six quarterbacks hit the milestone. In 2007, seven passed for over 4,000 yards which at the time was the record.

Obviously, the rule changes to benefit the passing game certainly have had an impact. However, only 43 quarterbacks in NFL history have reached the 4,000-yard mark and not one of them did it in an Eagles uniform. Donovan McNabb owns virtually every passing record, but the most yards he ever threw for in a season was 3,916 in 2008. Of course, it could be argued that if he wasn't rested for most of the final two games of the 2004 season he would have surpassed the mark. He finished with 3,875 yards, but the bottom line is he didn't crack four grand.

Kevin Kolb became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 300 yards in each of his first two starts (718 total) last season. If he were to keep that pace for the entire season, he'd crush the single-season NFL mark currently held by Dan Marino (5,084). While that's not expected, but would certainly be welcomed, here are two charts. The first includes the numbers of rookie quarterbacks who were declared full-time starters from the jump. The second chart lists players who, like Kolb, held the clipboard before taking over the starting role and what they did once they were in the spotlight. Yes, Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers, whose career path closely resembles Kolb's, is included.

God help us.

I posted it specifically because McPherson wrote it.  They're getting out ahead of it to prepare everyone for what's coming and that's why it's so depressing.

i dont see it that way....its a given the eagles are going to throw a lot....thats andys offense...why anyone thought there would be big change in that dept. is strange to me

to me the piece was put together as a pro cobb/pro eagle piece of propaganda....by piecing together certain almost all successful qb's on those lists it makes cobbs future look bright and the eagles geniuses for bringing him along the way they did

How's Colt Brennan doing?

All salty now that DMac has #5 in DC.  He's fighting Rex Grossman for the #2 spot.  Riveting.
