No chance they eat the last season of Ibanez's deal, and no way he comes off the bench. Werth is 150% gone with HOF taking over in RF for him. Bringing HOF up was to get him some major league experience before he becomes a full time starter next season.

I think it's possible for the Phils to score 2-3 off Sosa and for Halladay to give up 4.  So, I'll wait until the result is final.

i dont think the final year of ibanez's deal and a new werth deal are related

the reason werth will go is because his open market length of deal and cost is something the phillies arent willing to compete with

in other words if werth were willing to do lets say a three year 42 million dollar deal theyd be in regardless of ibanez

but if he gets six years and 75 million they are out no matter what

Because he's more valuable as a marketing tool than Werth is.  And he hits more home runs.
