cool. good game. thanks umps. it's going to be embaressing for them when replay is implemented for all calls and horrible bullshtein like that gets overturned. way to go too madson.  u had a base to play with and u throw a 91 mph fastball inside. way to nut up.  looks like their splitting.. typical late season bullshtein vs the daunting astros.  at least lidge escaped with his confidence.

That same ump called Victorino out on the same play in the day game against the Indians.  Get that ish together.  Once again the Phils can't make up any ground when the Braves lose, but there's still a chance to make up 1.5 the next 3 days.

you realize when they do on they same day when they dont play each other is pure coincidence?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ice grillin you

i love how its the umps not the horrible offense or the terrible manager

The ump blew the call, acknowledge it.

Terrible manager?

ice grillin you

who cares...the umps blow calls all the time...there were several other things last night that cost them the game much more than one bad call...including charlie pitching to lee

running francisco in the 9th was also a terrible decision that he got away with

manager is always bad and the offense is terrible right now...focus on those things

The steal was cringe-worthy.  In fact I think there was a moment where his front foot was off the bag and his back wasn't there yet, while the tag was being applied.  Not that it ended up mattering.

if a player got thrown out at a base to end a game hed get crucified

thing is its not like francisco is even a base stealer...i could maybe see the move if they had a bourn type on the bench...a guy they brought up specifically to pinch run and steal a base in a situation like that

Bring back Bruntlett?

But anyway, the Phillies should tee off on Brad Norris tonight, and all will be right in the world.

it wasnt a terrible call

the rules is ambiguous in its definition, its basically up to the discretion of the umpire to determine where the base path started vs. where howard first made his attempt. essentially it could have gone either way and this one happened to go against them.

remember the game in florida where the lost in the bottom of the 9th but the ump missed the call, so they won in the 10th? perhaps they just got one back.

also they had 6 outs to get a run and couldnt. and that 9th inning couldnt have been handled worse. what the farg are you pinch running francisco for ruiz for, then bunting with valdez and then finally attempting a steal with 2 outs?

awful. it was so much worse than what charlie does i get the feeling he was in his office drinking a beer and this all was on mackanon.

That wasn't his natural path.  It is definitely ambiguous but I think most would agree that he should have been ruled out.  What made it worse was that he was actually tagged by Howard anyway and that was missed as well.  Shouldn't matter though.  It's not the reason they lost the game and it's overshadowing how poor of an effort it was last night by the O.

I'm not blaming the loss on that missed call.  Dumbass choke should've tossed it to Chase and gotten the sure out.  Madson made a good pitch and Lee fisted it into left....bad luck.  The Valdez bunt was stupid.  Werth is a f'ing moron.  And Polanco, Utley, Howard, Werth, Ibanez and Victorino are all hitting .200 or worse over the past week.  That's why they lost...

the offense is awful and utley should be sent down to lakewood

not running to 1st base where the path is clearly marked out. it was a horrible call but down on the list of why the team lost.
