Munson

Jewy you should know by now that Michael has trouble reading.

Even I know that you've been saying that all along. Basically that the move wasn't all about money, and that Rube wanted prospects.....No where did Todd say that he actually liked that reasoning, or that he agrees with it...but that doesn't make it any less true.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Watching Lee pitch last night was like a dagger in the balls.

Thanks for re-stocking that farm system, Rube!

And here's the twisting of the dagger:

QuoteOF Tyson Gillies.Hit .185 with three RBIs and no stolen bases through 16 games. Walked just twice and struck out 17 times. LaMar attributes Gillies' poor start to the jump from single-A High Desert in the Seattle Mariners' system to the double-A Eastern League, where he's facing the likes of Washington Nationals phenom Stephen Strasburg.

QuoteP Phillippe Aumont. Was 1-1 with a 3.32 ERA after pitching six no-hit innings against Richmond on Sunday. Had walked nine and struck out 14 in 212/3 innings. "This is a young man who only had eight professional starts before this year, and he's starting and pitching at the double-A level," LaMar said. "He's competing and gaining confidence and working on the things we asked him to work on. Whether he's a starter or reliever down the road, he's only going to get better by getting innings."

Quote

P J.C. Ramirez. Was 2-1 with a 5.32 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 232/3 innings. "He had a bad outing last time out, but up until then he was doing very well," LaMar said. "He's working on a change-up, and that may hurt his results, but it will help his development."

I'd trade all 3 for either Taylor or Drabek back.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

From Randy Miller:

QuotePhillies pregame news: J.A. Happ had setback throwing bullpen on Friday and now will slow his throwing bullpen. A May return now appears in jeopardy. ... Joe Blanton coming off DL to make season debut on Monday against STL. ... Kyle Kendrick still in rotation for now, but pitching coach Rich Dubee isn't pleased what he's seen
"Oh, yeah. They'll still boo. They have to. They're born to boo. Just now, they'll only boo with two Os instead of like four." - Larry Andersen

Has Ibanez killed the momentum yet?

PoopyfaceMcGee

He did the right thing by striking out and not putting the ball in play.

welcome back offense.

it's always nice to see them put 10 on the board, but it kind of annoys me when they give that much run support to a pitcher who doesn't need it.  save that ish for hamels and kendrick because you know those 2 are going to give up 5r each.

Baseball doesn't work like that. You cant honestly be annoyed over that, can you

Rather than answer the question, I just want you to tell me how baseball works.  I'm pretty new to this.
